Anyway thanks for the write-up Lateralous - the 10 shots is huge, I'd rather he have 10 shots than have 2 goals on 2 shots.  Disappointed by the other stuff, and he is definitely going to be a penalty machine at the NHL level, but I'm hoping they can get him to stop taking the dumbest 20% of penalties, at least.

Anyway, the good news is that most of the negative stuff is either coachable or he'll naturally grow out of.  The talent and skill package that the Devils desperately need is definitely there.

Good to hear. And yeah, this team has plenty of 2-way forwards (and the ability to coach 2-way forwards), so it's good to know we have a player with that offensive killer instinct coming up. We saw with Kovalchuk, that a 2-way player can be coached/created out of a good forward, and almost always not the other way around.

Speaking of Brodeurs, Anthony seems to be playing well in the BCHL (British Columbia Hockey League)...a .940 save% in 23 games for a stacked Penticton team.

It's not a big deal or a sign that he might find himself in the NHL one day of course...just hope he's having some fun out there.  His last season in the Q was pretty rough.

Blackwood will be suspended for shooting the puck out of play after Matt Luff scored on him. This'll be his 2nd suspension of the season

Not a good sign. Goalies can't let fo schizzle ruffle their feathers so easily.

Steve Santini D: Assist (EN), +1, 4 PIM (Boarding, Tripping), 4 Shots
Miles Wood LW: Assist (EN), +1, 4 Shots
JD Dudek RW: E

-- Didn't get to see much of this one. Wood had a nice screen on what was the GWG.

Merrimack lost to Notre Dame 7-2
Brett Seney C: -1, 2 Shots, 4/19 Faceoffs

-- Watched a bit of this game on NBCSN. Seney has awesome speed and loves rushing the puck through the neutral zone for a controlled entry. Will be interesting to see how that translates to the pros down the road. Would like to see more Merrimack games to get a better sense of his passing game since the offense as a whole had a tough time.

It's probably not a big deal. It's always good to have a goalie that hates being scored on. He has plenty of time to calm down.

I'm fine with it too, plenty of goalies had mean streaks in them and were very successful [Roy and Hextall immediately come to mind]

I did a piece on Blackwood's recent discipline troubles for NYP

Also, Seney's goal for Merrimack last night was impressive. You can see it at 2:23.

Was at the gens/sting game last night and Zacha looked amazing. He was really throwing himself around too laying a couple of big hits. His shot release is godly and was seeing the ice very well. Things started to get chippy at the end of the 2nd, Zacha being involved as well.

I reeeeaaally like this kid. I also believe they gave him 2 assists, both on Konecny's goal (who also is going to be an absolute stud too).

Suspensions, game misconducts, penalty minutes galore! We have a bunch of feisty hard-nosed young players coming up in the organization. I don't mind it one bit, as long as we channel it the right way when they come up. We've become way too soft over time.

Wish Zacha would shoot a bit more but his draft+1 year has been a success

Also, does anyone know where I can see OHL shooting percentages? I wanna see what Zach Senyshen is shooting

I don't really see any good sources for shots in the OHL or the CHL as a whole, really the best way is to look through OHL boxscores and tally them up yourself. Took the liberty of doing it for you for Zach Senyshyn.

Zachary Senyshyn: 41 GP, 28 G, 162 SH, 3.95 SH/G, 17.284 SH%
