Don't think this guy is all that reliable, although he doesn't quite make things up. A deal may or may not happen soon, but it sounds more and more like Drouin will be dealt to a Western Conference team. It seems like the most smoke is around St. Louis for Robbie Fabbri if you believe what you read...Seems pretty plausible a deal like that can/will get done at some point. Derek21
I would call that guy not the most reliable too MD. If Tampa had the room, they'd try to package Drouin with a bad contract for Shattenkirk. But that's not happening. Ovechkin is unbelievable. 501 goals in 801 games. With 2 vs the Rangers and 2 more in another Caps win over the Senators, he is 1 up on Kane for the league lead. It's astonishing what he's done. 3 time Hart. 5 time Rocket Richard. Only thing he hasn't is win a Cup. I paid homage to the Great 8. Forever one of my favorite players despite who he plays for. Congrats Ovechkin on No. 500 Quote What I admire most about him is his passion. Ovechkin plays with a flair not seen. His enthusiasm is great for a sport that too often has star athletes who are more reserved. There’s nothing wrong with showing a little emotion when you score. There’s a reason why I own a classic Russian Ovi 8 in Russian lettering. Congrats to Ovechkin!
fsu1852
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 6m6 minutes ago Anze Kopitar's 8-year, $80M ($10M AAV) contract with LAK is, finally, in final stages of paperwork. So not officially "done" but very close. Edited January 13, 2016 by fsu1852

Congrats Ovechkin on No. 500 Scary to think what he would've done in the 80s. Lots of bad goaltending and mediocre defensemen back then...not to mention some truly awful teams to fatten up on (think 1983-84 Devils and team of that ilk...teams like that would lose a batch of games by 5+). And more net to shoot at.

Colorado Rockies 1976
And he's doing this in Corpse Puck Era. A number of Gretzky's teams averaged well over five goals per game. You barely see more than that from both teams combined these days. Back in the 80s, teams that averaged 3-goals-for per game were pathetic offensively. Teams that manage that now are offensive powerhouses. Edited January 14, 2016 by Colorado Rockies 1976

DJ Eco
I posted this in the Hagelin thread but thought it was interesting to discuss here, as it involved 4 teams (and more, but I left them out for clarity purposes): Let me try and untangle the web for all four teams involved (Devils included). I'm breaking it down on a very basic level according to the initial pieces given up, and what they have today. Players/picks that change hands a couple times are not explicitly listed as outbound (like Panthers' picks which cross paths a few times within the mix), only the original assets that started from each team, and what they have currently yielded at the finish line. Penguins OUT: Brandon Sutter, Rob Klinkhammer, 1st Round Pick, 3rd Round Pick (2016)Penguins IN: Nick Bonino, Carl Hagelin, VAN's 2nd Round Pick (2016) Rangers OUT: Carl Hagelin, 2nd Round Pick (2015), 6th Round Pick (2015)Rangers IN: Nicklas Jensen, FL>NJ/ANA's 2nd Round Pick (2015/sel: Ryan Gropp), VAN's 6th Round Pick (2017) Ducks OUT: Kyle Palmieri, Emerson EtemDucks IN: David Perron, Adam Clendening, NY's 2nd Round Pick (2015/sel: Julius Nattinen), NY's 6th Round Pick (2015/sel: Garrett Metcalf), MN>FL/NJ's 3rd Round Pick (2016) Devils OUT: Jaromir JagrDevils IN: Kyle Palmieri Ducks do pretty well in dealing with their cap crunch and getting a palatable return. Devils make out like absolute bandits. Rangers and Penguins get a failing grade (Rangers being the worse off of the two). I'm sure I've probably got a few things wrong, so feel free to correct me and I will edit it. Edited January 18, 2016 by DJ Eco
