Wasn't so long ago that being down 4-0 (or even 1-0) felt like game over.  Great job by the Mets (with some help by the Braves) to put themselves in position to win.

There's going a time when I can't watch this sh!t anymore... You know the heart will be pumping through the chest in any playoff game he's in. The only envy I've ever had as a fan is Mariano Rivera. What I wouldn't have given to have that guy...

To be fair Familia's splits have been a lot better since May when he had a horrible month.  He had his usual post-ASG hiccup week so July wasn't that great either but overall he's allowed 7 runs in 41 innings from the beginning of June on, with 49 K's.

And you know you're living a charmed life atm when Eric Campbell's making big defensive plays at first base to save a possible RBI double.

Familia's been quite good lately.  Going back to 7/31, he's pitched 18.2 IP and allowed just 11 hits and 2 BB, and struck out 23.  He's also only given up one earned run.  His season WHIP (not great for a good chunk of the season) is now down to 1.17.  And he's only blown one save in 13 opportunities over that time.

And as we remember, the Village Idiot didn't exactly do Familia any favors back in July when he brought him into another game after anyone with so much as one functioning brain cell knew that Familia was completely gassed.  That didn't help Familia's July numbers.

Mariano was the very best at what he did...EVERYONE would want him.  But we've got it pretty damned good with Familia...he's 91-for-99 in save opportunities since becoming the closer in 2015.  He's clearly one of the better closers in the game.

Braves looking and playing like a bad team this series.  Think they were 21-20 or something like that coming in.

They've been scoring a lot of runs lately...hope Colon doesn't have one of those nights (he's really kept those to a minimum in 2016).

Never a good sign when you notice the third base coach.  Teufel's really had a rough year there.  Wilmer's not exactly a speed demon.

Doesn't feel like a good spot for Robles...oops, just one batter for him.

Can't see Goeddell getting out of this.  Oh well...Mets had plenty of inning to plate another run.  Still 15-5 in their last 20.

You could just feel this wasn't going to be our night after the Wilmer play.

Felt like the Mets weren't going to score even if Smoker had gotten out of it.  Oh well.

Looks like the Pirates are officially toast.  Getting killed at home today by the Reds, who are about to take three out of four from the Pirates in Pittsburgh.  That's 11 losses in their last 13 games.  Just don't see them recovering from that.

Marlins not quite dead yet, but definitely on fumes.

The Marlins pretty much have to shut down Fernandez and Stanton soon enough anyway, it was the height of desperation (and a byproduct of September rosters expanding) that they were even able to take Stanton off the DL to pinch-hit.  Conley's already more or less done.

Now that I've finally turned the Mets on it'd be nice not to have any drama for the last two outs at Turner Field.

Verrett was really disappointing this season overall.  Not a good sign when your manager doesn't even trust you to complete a mop-up.

At least it never got to be truly dicey.  Mets have now won six straight series.  Tough one coming up against the Nats.  Mets are 6-10 against them this season.  Sure the Nats would LOVE to win that series.

Yeah, disappointing series for the Cards for sure, earning a 2-2 split against the Brewers at home.  Now the real bitch part of their schedule kicks in.

Still a bit pissed over last night, really we should've swept these clowns, but it is nice to get out of Atlanta with 2 of 3. Really we've had a huge upper hand in Atlanta in the past 3 years or so.

Cespedes wont win the NL MVP, but you know a case can be made for him in the same way Gibson won it in 1988. He is this teams offense and lifeblood. When he's not in the lineup this team is helpless and pathetic.

Yes Murphy is having an all world season but he also has Bryce Harper behind him in that lineup and Wilson Ramos having an amazing year and that entire offense has been incredibly healthy.
