NJDevs4978
I see .406 and think of Ted Williams...of course he did it over a full season, last .400 hitter - 75 years ago.
'7'
Dead in the water through 5 innings once again at Petco.
'7'
what a moron Tim Teufel sending him there. Out by 30 feet Norris dropped the ball though. Though it doesn't even look like Cabrera touched home. He never even went back to touch it either
'7'
d'Arnaud tried to throw today and suffered a setback. Wouldn't shock me at all if rotator cuff surgery was around the corner...which may effectively end his career as a catcher.

Colorado Rockies 1976
That was awesome, hilarious, exciting...all of it. And it was a no-doubter to boot. Duda doing a really good Pedro Cerrano imitation in his first two ABs.

'7'
Now they have to worry about winning the damn game. Jay is so annoying. Always kills the Mets. We need to start tacking on runs here. Edited May 8, 2016 by '7'

Duda doing a really good Pedro Cerrano imitation in his first two ABs. The Cespedes double play with 1st and 2nd and nobody out up 4-0 really killed us. We were right on the brink of knocking a shaky Shields out of the game. Edited May 8, 2016 by '7'
'7'
Well they've found Conforto's kryptonite...the big slow curveball.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Same old sh!t with this offense...if the ball doesn't leave the park, the runners don't get driven in. And of course, Ks all over the place.
'7'
Nice job by Blevins making Jay look foolish out there. Gets us out of the 7th with no damage done
'7'
Kind of now wish we traded De Aza when teams were hot on him during spring training. He has been awful. Worthless.

'7'
Mets are now tied with Colorado for the most homers in baseball, however they're 25th overall in hits(and 21ist in doubles and 29th in steals). So yea, basically home runs are all they can do. Their offense is actually very post dynasty Yankee like, where they got away from being a great clutch/situational hitting team to just exclusively home run happy. It would shock me if they're not no hit at least twice this year. Edited May 8, 2016 by '7'
Colorado Rockies 1976
Big day for Wright. Hard to believe he's getting on base over 40% of the time, but he is. Yeah, the offense is maddening. I'm just amazed how they can't ever find a way to get a run home unless it's by going yard. Never a leadoff double, then a grounder to the right side to move him over, then a single or another grounder or a sac fly to get him home. Obviously this team can hit home runs, but to me, it's like the big strong dumb jock of offenses...sure, it can enjoy some success, and dingers are always fun to watch, but there's damned near no finesse or intelligence behind much of what they do. Not sure about being no-hit multiple times, but yeah, they'll have a number of very low-hit, 10+ K games...and instead of making anything resembling an adjustment, they'll be swinging from their heels and trying to win with brute force, results be damned. And one can't help but wonder what happens when the HRs stop coming at this insane rate...the Mets have hit 44 in their last 21 games (15-6 record). And it's pretty mind-blowing how severely they've out-homered opponents: 46 to 15. The Mets have actually been out-hit this season, going by simple hit totals: 249 to 234; by comparison, the Nats are outhitting their opposition 243 to 219, and the Cubs are outhitting opponents by a 256 to 183 count. Of course, with all of the dingers, the Mets have a pretty fair total-bases edge (430 to 337). And things are starting to even out a bit for the Nats' pitching staff...their staff ERA is now up to 2.83 (it was under 2.3 for a while). The Mets now rank ahead of them with their 2.77 mark. Colorado Rockies 1976
Another good start for Ynoa in AAA and Gsellman in AA. Gsellman's ERA now 1.77 through 6 starts and 34.1 IP.
'7'
The hell is Cabrera doing bunting(poorly) on a 3-1 count with Granderson on 1st and nobody out. Bunted ball 4 no less! All we ended up doing was exchanging men on 1st and giving SD a free out.
'7'
Also the MLB is now going to way of the NFL with pink overload. Iffy challenge. The call at 2nd was out and I see nothing conclusive that he didn't scrape the bag. But wasting your challenge here is kinda dumb. '7'
Well Harvey's middle inning troubles have come back to haunt him again as the atrocious .174 Christian Bethancourt just hit one into the Pacific Ocean.
'7'
Yet another replay. Cashner called out at the plate and nothing conclusive to prove he was safe. So much like in the 1st inning, he has to be ruled out
NJDevs4978
So how long before Jim Henderson uses up all the currency from his great first week of the season?
'7'
Well, that balk was idiotic but the only reason anybody scored was because Flores booted one. Had enough of Jon Jay already. Worried about Reed vs Myers with Reeds propensity to give up the long ball. I just hope Myers hits it at someone.
