Yep, D is going to be a problem for this club. Amazing how the usual suspects are already showing why.

I think he'll turn in a very ordinary year, and we'll be hoping he opts out of his contract. I'm just glad he didn't get signed to the big long-term deal he thought he was going to get. Thing is if he's bad he's not opting out. It'd take a finite set of circumstances for us to start hoping he opts out and him actually doing so. Colorado Rockies 1976
And Harvey's spring control problems also on display early on. Thanks a lot Yoenis...worry a little more about catching balls and a little less about your fvcking car stable. I still can't believe Cespedes won a gold glove, shows how worthless that award is. Edited April 4, 2016 by NJDevs4978
Colorado Rockies 1976
I'm guessing d'Arnaud probably could've been charged with more than that. The guy can hit, but he's been very shaky defensively overall. Duda against a good pitcher...lol
NJDevs4978
This ump DOES have an erratic strike zone though.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Christ, another ump with no strike zone consistency.
capo
Cespedes is going to kill 2nd tier pitching and that's where we're going to make our money with him. Tda is not good behind the plate. When Mike Piazza says you need work behind the plate you know you're bad. Although, Piazza wasn't a bad receiver he just couldn't throw... The risk they felt like they had to take. Royals just friggin' execute. So cleanly.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Piazza did just about everything pretty well behind the plate...but yeah, awful thrower.

Colorado Rockies 1976
Volquez making life harder on himself with his erratic command of the strike zone...gotta make him pay dammit... Travis could only dream of making those throws...but things just seem to have a way of going the Royals' way...very frustrating team to play against... NJDevs4978
I don't get why Conforto had to try to steal against Sal Perez, he's not the fastest kid in the world and Perez is a gold glove catcher that's actually good at throwing out runners though I know it's hard for the Mets to imagine a catcher being good at throwing out runners... Colorado Rockies 1976
Game over. Hope the Mets can take the next one. Royals play this game incredibly well, in all facets.

NJDevs4978
Volquez is basically a slightly above average pitcher the Mets make look like Clayton Kershaw. Three straight outings now they can't hit him even when he threatens to walk the ballpark.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Unfortunately the Mets have a lot of hitters who disappear against better pitching. They will probably get away with that in regular season. But Wright, Doofus, Cespedes and others will always be a concern. Why don't you underhand next time David? fvcking Wright... capo
Perfect example as to why DW should be a 1b if on the field at all. Just terrible.

NJDevs4978
Honestly I was surprised he even GOT the throw to first base clean. He had little chance of throwing out an actual quick runner on a ball that far in the hole. Edited April 4, 2016 by NJDevs4978
Colorado Rockies 1976
If I'm the Royals, I take bases against d'Arnaud at every friggin' opportunity. No friggin' brainer.
