Lateralous
I'm fine with this. Lou sh!t the bed with everything associated with Matteau and that pick from not passing on the 29th to f'ing up his development his rookie year. Glad to just move on. Devilsfan118
Seems like a lateral move, but I'm cool with it. Satans Hockey
Matteau has had off the ice issues? They just said this on nhl network and I just don't remember hearing anything about it. Smith-Pelly is talking on there now. Matteau has had off the ice issues? They just said this on nhl network and I just don't remember hearing anything about it. Smith-Pelly is talking on there now. Smith-Pelly is talking on there now. probably referring back to his junior days. decent trade, especially considering we swap a left wing for a right wing. maybe if DSP plays out the season getting stempniak's minutes he makes something of himself Edited February 29, 2016 by dmann422
Chuck the Duck
Matteau was a misused asset since day 1. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good. Matteau was a misused asset since day 1. CarpathianForest
Smith-Pelley is a good pick up. Decent 4th line, 3rd line player. More NHL experience than Matteau. RizzMB30
This is a great pickup. We're losing a non-established player for someone who has contributed in both the Anaheim roster AND while at Montreal. By that I mean he has actually stuck in the lineup. Don't expect the world, but this kid can be a great asset in our piss-poor bottom 6. This is a great pickup. Devs3cups
DSP looked great in the 2014 playoffs with the Ducks. He has good potential and I believe that with the right linemates he will produce for us. Edited February 29, 2016 by Devs3cups

Neb00rs
Matteau just didn't seem to have a future on the Devils. There's other young guys getting the playing time and who are better. Matteau needs a fresh start. Edited March 1, 2016 by Neb00rs

Joe B
Was this move made because of the new org's philosophy of speed? I liked his game the first year, really didn't see much this year. I know nothing of DSP so I am looking for the reasoning behind it, not judging one way or the other. Joe Was this move made because of the new org's philosophy of speed?
