Ryane Clowe has not officially retired as a player. He still has a contract with the Devils and will be on LTIR when the season begins.

Edited to add: I believe Pronger did something like this - LTIR and took a League job...

I mean they are already paying him...does he get paid twice??

I loved him as a player, was excited and even got his jersey when he came here. Head injuries are a messed up thing.

What's the over/under, number of games before getting brained with a puck on the bench and suffering another concussion?

He has been known to play from the bench

No, this is not correct.  Clowe is not retiring.

No, Clowe will waive his NMC and then he doesn't have to be protected.
