Al Trautwig in hot water again over remarks

It's pretty amazing how many people in sports commentating, TV/radio, etc. get such a huge leg up on such huge national broadcasts by virtue of just being in the New York area.

Must be super frustrating to some of the quality play-by-play/commentator TV/radio personalities putting their time in for decades in the Midwest and West Coast, to see guys like Al Trautwig and Steve Cangialosi (who's actually doing a decent job with the soccer calls) so easily handed a contract and plane ticket to Rio for something as big as the Olympics.

Just like an old, out-of-touch, "everything is black and white" curmudgeon to make a comment like Trautwig did.  Hey Al, it just doesn't take a direct biological connection to a child to make one a "parent".  It takes a hell of a lot more.  Procreator does not a parent make.

Just food for thought here, people are aware his cameo in 'Cool Runnings' was not a coincidence, right? Like he was, at least at one point, a reputable sportscaster for the national circuit before the Rangers/Dolan lassoed his nuts into oblivion and he guzzled the fvck out of their semen/kool aid

BTW Edit: not AT ALL taking away from how profoundly stupid his comments were, just pointing out until Dolan and MSG got ahold of him ['Three Kings', oil torture style], he was a decent broadcaster.

what I found more disturbing was his fantasy of thinking he knew ANYTHING about gymnastics... he was cringe worthy

To be fair, he's covered gymnastics for NBC for the last 15 years or so.  One would think he's picked up at least something about the sport in all that time.
