Onddeck 71
UGHHHHHHHHH such BS. cant catch a break... but its true, could've been A LOT worse. such a brutal hit to a team that is really surprising the league right now. such a bummer! get well buddy!
mikepeluso8 208
Sucks more because of exactly that, this team is doing so much better than expectations (even my own) and could really use TH to keep the momentum going. sucks.
LittleBallofHate 1,283
Seems like a large percentage of teams have lost their "star" player this year... I hope their estimate is correct (3-4 wks). I just saw Stamkos is out "indefinitely" with a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee.
EdgeControl 916
What's with this meniscus bug going around. did they clip it or stitch it?

Mitico12 45
3 to 4 weeks before he even gets on a tread mill to start walking. More like 6-8 weeks before he starts skating. Wasn't Parise out basically the entire season a few years back for something similar? Hall may be out for the season. Book it. Meniscus tear is no joke. Even the chart you linked shows two different options with one having a return to "heavy sports" in 4-6 weeks. Probably less for a professional athlete in his prime. I deal with meniscus surgeries all the time at work, no reason he couldn't be back in a month if it was minor, which it likely was seeing as how he was just playing at full speed a couple days ago. JSR 106
Sucks major, we've been surprising people this year. At least it's not as bad as Stamkos, apparently.

This definitely has me extremely concerned.

It was in face a meniscus tear as well Who knows maybe Hall had a "slight tear" it didn't seemed to be bothering him too much as he showed up for practice before they sent him home

Read here: http://www.webmd.com/pain-management/knee-pain/tc/meniscus-surgery-recovery-time-topic-overview There are many different types of meniscus tears. I tore my meniscus pretty badly along with stretched and partially torn tendons and dislocated a knee cap in a football injury when I was 16. I was told 4-6 weeks. I was doing light skating and strength training in 3 weeks or so even though I really wasn't supposed to be. Three to four could very well be exactly right depending on the surgery. They may have just cleared out debris. Edited November 17, 2016 by Devil Dan

Read here: http://www.webmd.com/pain-management/knee-pain/tc/meniscus-surgery-recovery-time-topic-overview It all depends on how bad of a tear. I agree it's not a joke, but it's not necessarily a season ending injury anymore. When I had knee surgery for a meniscus tear 10 years ago I was in and out of surgery the same day with just two small holes in my knee. This was even after they discovered a complication. Apparently I had a ton of scar tissue under my knee cap (from a hockey injury 5 years before) which they needed to scrape. I was walking without crutches in 3 days and was pretty much healed after 4 weeks of physical therapy. I was never a professional, but I started skating and playing again after 5 weeks. I'm hoping for the best.
