2018 JETS

Darnold has nobody in the lineup though.  They kept forcing the ball to Jermaine Kearse on third down cause he's the only guy left and he came up lame too.  Herndon might actually be their best weapon at this point (shudder) but he's so green he was only running bubble screens in college.  They were throwing to some practice squad guy in the fourth quarter cause he's from USC and had reps with Darnold.  At least Allen has Fitz and David Johnson and they've been the worst offense this side of Buffalo.

To the D's credit they did buckle down a bit when it looked like it was going to be 45-10 after the first two series, but in the end a predictable result.

Rosen has Fitz and DJ.

Yeah Allen doesn't have much either, but that team DID make the playoffs last year with a semi-competent QB fwiw.  The Jets were 5-11 last year and arguably have worse offensive talent the last few weeks than they did last year with guys such as Powell, Anderson, Enunwa and Kearse bouncing on and off the injury report.

The Jets had receivers to start the season but they all bit the dust. Darnold was fine yesterday, nobody was ever open. Even Neal Sterling got concussed. And these aren't little injuries. We have two high ankle sprains to Enunwa and possibly Anderson. Kearse is now banged up. Pryor had a groin tear and had to be cut in a roster crunch. It's down to Deontay Burnett and Andre Roberts. Powell who was a reliable target out of the backfield is gone as well. That's pathetic. It's not anybody's fault but we're left with nothing

The D is a bit banged up two. Trumaine Johnson is out best corner he's out. Claiborne is playing hurt and can barely put in a full practice. Maye has a broken thumb and tried to gut it out. They hung in there a bit at least

Didn’t the Jets just sign Rishard Matthews?

Yes but as someone who just joined the team before the game, those guys never have immediate impacts. Maybe we can expect more of him this week but it was a desperation move.

I don't think Bowles will be getting the Hue Jackson treatment, however if (and when) they lose to both Miami and Buffalo that will officially end it for him at 3-7.

Don't even know where the Jets would go for a new coach. Lincoln Riley said he's not interested in the NFL "right now". The right now part means he's open for business. He's a terrific playcaller. Go try and get this guy.

He’ll have 10 catches for 200 yards and three TD’s against Matt Burke’s defense.

Which means the Jets lost 41-38 because the Bowles/Rodgers braintrust couldn't stop Brock Osweiler running it down their throats himself

Well he might want the Cleveland job more to work with Baker again.

That's definitely true. In this instance money has to talk and we'd have to outbid. If he's even on our radar. Would love to coax Bruce Arians out of retirement and maybe get a good 4 years out of him

Not overly optimistic heading into Miami. Maybe we'll get Enunwa and Anderson back, but they both won't be near 100% and are a big risk for getting re-injured. Happy to have Eli McGuire back as he can be a threat in the screen game. Again no Trumaine Johnson. What a lost season it's shaping up for him. Miami won't have an issue moving the ball on us.

They still have Brock Osweiler playing instead of Tannehill this time...if they can't slow him down (and it's not like Miami has great WR's either) they should just pack it in for the season.

If Todd wants to keep his job he'd better find a way to win the next two and finish no worse than 7-9 or 8-8.

Field is supposedly in bad shape, Jets are complaining about it. Guess there was a game there yesterday and it was played in rain. This could be a problem especially with our two receivers coming back today with leg injuries

Just fire Bowles already. Who cares who runs the team the rest of the year it's clear he's getting fired at end of year anyway. Fire him now and let Kevin Greene or who cares run the team. Season is lost

i'm done with Bates too. He is absolutely nothing special. I want a new OC in here ASAP. He is a nobody and he is not the right guy for Darnol. He does not play to Darnolds strengths. The offense that he's devised is not one Darnold can succeed in

Blowing that field goal is the perfect metaphor for Todd Bowles' entire tenure.  Sack on second down, delay of game penalty then they run a hurried WR screen that Kearse drops, then even our reliable kicker shanks a 50-yard FG attempt by about fifty yards.

But at least this is the end here with Bowles. They lost this game and Bowles is fired. They will have a new coach for 2019. I'm ok with that. The Bowles tenure is officially over

God I hope so...I can't see them going any better than 5-11 or 6-10 at best, and that's if we get two wins over the Bills :P

Maybe John Harbaugh will be available

in a heartbeat I'd have him here. If possible. But the idiocy of Bowles is now officially over

Baltimore is an intelligent franchise though so walking away from Harbaugh would be strange

Darnold has a sprained foot it seems. Was in a walking boot today and sat out practice. With Buffalo coming up and a bye week after it may be best to sit him out. Need to be cautious about this. A foot injury will unquestionably affect the way a QB throws the ball.
