'7'
This was bizarrely unJetlike. Though I guess playing the Bills it shouldn't be that surprising. And I was buying into Buffalo too as a legit contender to NE. Not so. What this game proved is that 1. The Jets talent was grossly underrated but they're still not anything more than a 6-7 win team 2. It's NE's division and nobody is even close yet Next three games are Tampa/Carolina/KC. So yea 4-8 staring us in the face. But the fact that we'll be into November with meaningful football on the docket is a major development After KC Petty has to play. He's marinated long enough Edited November 3, 2017 by '7'
Colorado Rockies 1976
Same ol'...BILLS. Whenever they start to tease towards being truly relevant, they have a game like this. And even if Richie Incognito has a point about TNF games being lousy practice in general, it doesn't come off well if you're whining about it after a bad loss...right Richie, like you would've said anything if your team had WON that game. And it sure seemed to me like the team wearing the green and white wanted this game a hell of a lot more than the Bills did. Hope they enjoyed their purely cosmetic, garbage-time TDs at the end of the game. Anyway, the Bills' next four games are pretty tough (Saints at home, Chiefs and Chargers on the road, and the Pats at home). Wouldn't surprise me if they lost three out of four or more. '7', Tampa is nothing special this season...I can see the Jets winning that one to get to 5-5. I'd be surprised if they did more than split their final six games though. Lots of tough ones in there. Last thing the NFL wants is his name in the press for any reason.
NJDevs4978
lol I completely forgot he was in the NFL, last I had heard of him was when Rex went and got him and another contreversial player (forget who atm) to get his usual Rex-ish headlines. Now I remember who the other contreversial player was - it was that fool who punched Geno Smith in the mouth lol, IK Enempali. I could even see them beating Carolina to get to 6-5...they just traded Benjamin, Cam's been a total sourpuss and mediocre (at best) since the Super Bowl. But yeah, KC/at NO/at NE I can't see them winning any of those games atm. At best they'll probably go 8-8, save Todd's job and they'll need at least two new QB's at the end of the year cause clearly none of these guys are in the future plans. NJDevs4978
Must be nice to root for a real football team. I wouldn't know what that's like. Just lose the rest of the ****ing games, at least until they finally pull the plug on McScrub and Terrible Todd.
'7'
The Jets played a poor game and deserved to loose. Poor secondary play. Poor O line play. They looked disorganized and unprepared. They turned back into a pumpkin Still the officiating was disgustingly awful. The Jets got the ball back in the 4th on a 3rd down incomplete. Darryl Roberts never even made conctact with the receiver...he broke on a poor Fitz pass and dropped an int. Fine whatever. Jets ball 9-3 He was called for PI. The Bucs them scored in the drive. I have seen some bad PI before but I have NEVER seen one where no contact was made with the receiver. I'm not saying the Jets would've won, but this is a call so hideous that the league needs to at least contact the Jets and say sorry and admit a mistake was made. I didn't see this play, but I'll trust your account of this. Yet another exhibit of why this is an AWFUL season for the NFL. Just seems more and more like a crash and burn kind of season for this league.

Poor attendance though it was bolstered by Florida Jets fan. Fitzpatrick vs. McCown who have seemingly played for every team between them (some multiple times) drops, bad calls, poor play calling. As encouraging as Thurs was this week Bowles once again shows he has no business leading this team in the future. Thing is though he's already exceeded expected wins. If they win 6 it's going to be tough to fire him. Better options will be out there.
'7'
I know the Jets are not exactly the 84 49ers or the 85 Bears but...can you please call the game fairly. This really was a catastrophe. Not saying the Jets outright deserved to win this game but the NFL stealing a TD from us AND the Newton personal foul gift wrapped a win for Carolina
NJDevs4978
Eh the personal foul call was legit, no reason for that dope DT to shove him after he got rid of the ball. It would have been one thing if he just followed through and took him down, but you're not shoving someone to the ground if they still have the ball, that was just stupid and unneccesary. And it's great that Robbie Anderson is showing signs of being a legit #1 WR but you can do without the whole lobbying for Pro Bowl votes during the game, if anything that's offputting more than it helps. Sefarian-Jenkins must be wondering what he's gotta do to get one of these TD's called at the goalline, that's literally twice now he's made a legit TD catch by any standard except this new dope head of officials who overturns it without conclusive evidence or any evidence it wasn't a catch really. Although to be fair ASJ also dropped a gimme in the first quarter too. Edited November 26, 2017 by NJDevs4978
Jersey Sure
On the final play of the Jets game when they needed a hail mary, well...they wound up throwing a 12 yard completion. Now, some out there might have been smacking their foreheads. But they got a 1st down, I know the clock ran out. However, I see that as a positive and something to build on for next game. And next week, maybe they get 20 yards on the final play, more progress. This team is going places, it's hard to say where but they are heading...somewhere. Haven't watched many games this year. Between the penalties, reviews, commercial timeouts every 5 minutes or so, occasionally it seems there is stuff happening. Just not enough stuff to keep me watching. I know it'll never happen but man does the NFL owe us one this year. Not that it'll happen...Chiefs are due and will smoke us this Sunday. Overall though ASJ I believe has turned the corner and can be relied on to be an above average pass catching TE. Glad to see he's kicked his substance abuse issues and gotten his life together Edited November 29, 2017 by '7'
'7'
Would love to be pleasantly surprised but tomorrow is definitely a "get well" game for the Chiefs. Over under on ASJ TD's taken away by the league?

NJDevs4978
Ugh this game's just gonna make me more annoyed they blew the Miami, Tampa and Atlanta games. Even just winning the first two of those would have put the Jets in pretty decent position. Edited December 3, 2017 by NJDevs4978

I don't even think they'll pull this one out. They'll jet it up somehow Still, at 14-0 this games needle was pointing to 48-3. They turned it around which impressed me. This team is closer than I thought. They're not a contender but they're not as wretched as what was projected. I mean we literally had pundits throwing 1-15 and 0-16 out there. NJDevs4978
Wow this is a Jet-style meltdown NOT BY the Jets. Peters throwing the flag in the stands is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while but you can't be happy about that if you're Andy Reid. Alex Smith throws for 4 td's and has a 70 yard run and still loses. Jets pretty much get robbed of another TD on a QB sneak and then get a gift TD on a play I'm certain Forte never scored on. Jets go on 3 hr drives - Chiefs come back score on the next play. Reid tried the ol Rex stunt making Revis a captain. Revis promptly looks like crap. Still can't cover or tackle anyone. '7'
Overall though how can you not be happy if you're a Jets fan. We had 0-16 and 1-15 predictions. We were supposed to be the Browns, the 9ers. And here we are in December with a meaningful game to look forward too. If Pitt wins tomorrow and next week (very possible if not likely) and we beat a comatose Broncos team in Denver...then we have another big one looming at the Superdome. Just enjoy the ride. And most of this is Morton. He's getting a career season from McCown. We were supposed to be a historically bad offense...well we may be on the way to two 1,000 yard receivers in Kearse and Anderson. NJDevs4978
You’re not happy if you were hoping for the high draft pick and/or to see Petty or Hack down the stretch lol. But the way it’s going the QB’s aren’t necessarily going top three in the draft anyway. Get Cousins or even Alex Smith and I could care less about the draft. Eli is a pipe dream and I’m not sure what he has left but I’ll take him too. The WR core can actually be a good NFL WR core next year with a top three of Anderson, Enunwa and Kearse. The RB’s are okay, a better offensive line would help. The D still needs a little work, especially with Mo counting his money on the way out the door (got suspended a quarter for lateness AGAIN, the third year in a row), and Deron Lee got deactivated for his own tardy transgression. Something about Cousins I really like. He's got insane confidence and that moxy that you love. But I just can't call him elite level yet. And that elite level "club" is super tiny anyway. Some people just have it as Rodgers/Brady and nobody else. But I would love to have Cousins here. He wants to win badly. Still the salary that he's going to command may hamstring the team in other areas. Though you have to admit McCown works great in this offense and with Morton, though he's had some "yea it's Josh McCown" moments (INT vs. Miami, fumble vs. Carolina) If you go by QB rating he's 12th in the league. Would never dream of this kind of production from him. 4th in completion percentage
