Thanks for the dumb nose punch, Shero. We already had plenty of expansion fodder.

Here's to hoping something else is brewing, otherwise, I personally think Ray got beat to the punch early and often when he possibly coulda traded Quincey for better returns.

In Knuckle-deep Ray We Trust? [Caught him knuckle deep in his freaking nose at the Caps NYE game, for those who don't know]

If people are thinking Parenteau would only net a 6th rounder or so, granted due to his finger issue, then why would anyone expect a 3rd for Quincey?  Just doesn't seem equitable to me.

Pierre Mcguire was just talking about how Shero and Fitzgerald handled this situation amazingly and with a ton of class, and how other organizations will take notice.  Not really sure what he means, or why this was so special, but I guess we did right by sending him to a contender or a team he was supposedly comfortable with (apparently he knows someone in or around the organization)

Re:  hoping for a 3rd round pick or so, partly because his numbers don't look that bad...he's a +4 on a bad team full of minuses.  Obviously a LOT more to look for in a player than just +/- relative to teammates, but yeah, definitely nothing that remotely excites at the moment.  Not even sure what the point of this deal was.

Paul Castron, our head of scouting, drafted him in CBJ

Ah, yeah, that makes sense.  Pierre was talking quick and the stream was also cutting in and out so didn't quite hear it all.

Holding him out of a game or a practice or two (or the team bus headed to the airport right now) is already a step up from how other teams approach their obvious trade bait ahead of the deadline. I'd be interested to see what else Pierre is referring to as well though.

I guess that makes sense and is the courteous thing to do. If I was a GM, granted I'd want all my players to feel safe, comfortable, and at home on the team, but I'd also be pretty up front with them all the time, and make sure they all know that it's a business, and anything can happen at anytime unfortunately.  This is ESPECIALLY true when a team is where we are right now, basically in a situation to try to do anything to improve the roster.

Haha, that's pretty funny.

Just got this email...

Today at 3 p.m. is the 2017 NHL Trade Deadline. To discuss the Devils' trade activity and the direction of the team, GM Ray Shero will be holding a Facebook Live chat around 4 p.m. this afternoon.

As we think about the future of this team, immediate and long-term, we want to make sure we are sharing that vision with you, a valued Season Ticket Member. Follow the New Jersey Devils on Facebook and tune in to Ray's Facebook Live interview this afternoon!

Get ready for some corporate speak. We are building a supportive ,attacking team that will be very tough to play against.

Right after the chat Ray will be joined by Hugh and the Easter bunny singing their rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Free copies will be available for the first 9000 fans. You may also buy a copy at the Devils Den for $5.95

peace

I will laugh like a kid for a few days... Coz for your information, Prout in French means Fart.

You're welcome

Hopefully he'll be a stealthy sneaky big hitter...Silent But Deadly.

Ugh,  The team needs Draft Picks, O-fence, not another oversized Orange Barrel.

Damn expansion draft continues to throw a monkey wrench into this seasons' players, trades, and roster protection.

A little humor to carry the next 35 minutes of TRADE DEADLINE

New Jersey Devils - easily exploited on the ice and apparently now in the trade market. This our punishment for the damn Palm deal?

It's one trade, and this is the first move of Shero's since he took over that I shook my head at. Relax.

What bothers me is you can easily make a case for Quincey to be as good as Hainsey, we all pretty much agreed on that the other day. Pitt gave up a 3rd and a AHLer, we pick up a bottom pair/AHLer who still has another year left. The case is desperately being made to be expansion fodder, but come on, we have plenty to expose.
