Devils Beach Bash, August 19th, Point Pleasant

I almost went to this event last year, but as a non-season ticket holder, I declined because general pubic tix don't come with access to the players. That would be the only reason I'd bring my 10 year old there.

Anyone go last year, were you member or general public, and do you think it was worth the time?

Also, if I know a STH, and I beg them sufficiently, can I get them to buy me member tix or will I get kicked off the beach if I try to do so?

I have heard mixed reviews about the bash last year.  Some have told me it was great, and some said it was just another day at the beach with a couple players and alumni showing up and a few Devils themed tents.

For me to go it depends on what else I am doing that day and who comes.  I heard that non-STH were able to get pics/autographs of the players as well since the players moved around a bit and they couldn't really confine them to one area.  Again these are things I have heard so I could be mistaken.

I figure to bring a 10 year old there, you have to have access to the players. Otherwise I have to spend the entire time explaining why they are there but she can't go see them.

I'm not overly concerned with how great the event is, if we got to see a few players I'd be happy. Plus then we could ditch it and just go to the boardwalk at any time, which is something we would have done on a summer Saturday anyway.

Still interested in hearing from anyone who may have attended...

I went last year and it was a pretty good event.  One of the better run events I think they've ever done.  I bought season ticket holder tickets even though I have no plan at all.  They couldn't have cared less.  I got a real nice beach towel and a t-shirt.  They had plenty of bbq food that was decent and a bunch of silly boardwalk style games that you pretty much played till you won something.  The prizes were bobbleheads, Devils beach balls, sand pails and frisbees.  I'm pretty sure we got a free booze drink and after that it was a cash bar.  They had a specialty drink called Red Devil or something and it was delicious.  Dano and Salvador were there, and a couple rookies I can't really remember.  They had a big turnout but it was a beautiful hot as hell day.  From what I saw all the kids there were having a blast.

It was ehhh last year. Parking was tough, the beach was very crowded (realize these are common weekend issues at the shore and not the Devils fault but worth mentioning) and my wife and I had to wait a looooong time for the food. They ran out at one point and took over an hour to restock. The VIP area seemed fully stocked though.  As others have said there were a few players sprinkled around but no one you couldn't see at any other Devils event (i.e. the usual suspects). I did think the free t-shirt was pretty cool and they actually had many different sizes.  I think with a few tweaks they could solve some of the issues from last year and add a bit more activities.

I had a great time last year, but it's pretty easy for me to go since I live here to begin with. My friends and I all had a blast though. Just another reason to go have fun on the beach. Got a bunch of knick knacks and sh!t that I still use to this day like these NJ Devils sunglasses that I wore all last week in Jamaica lol. IIRC Blandisi and Wood were there but I didn't even look for them. We spent most of the day playing cornhole. Talked to Matty Loughlin for a bit. For us it was definitely a fun time.

That would be amazing. Keep me posted!!

Hey sorry I thought these were free but apparently it's differently priced tiers. I didn't realize it was actually like this last year as well. The codes for the events look like general codes but I'm not sure if they will check to see if you're an actual season ticket holder or not during checkout.

The link is right here and they have all the codes listed so maybe give the checkout process a shot and see what it tells you...
