Forgot to post this the other day - it's an honor just to be nominated

Congrats to #NJDevils prospects @joeyandy19 (U. of Minnesota-Duluth) and @brettseney89 (Merrimack College) who have been nominated for the Hobey Baker Award!

Let's get Anderson signed asap

Anderson had a rough start but he's nearly at one point per game now (16 p in 17 games). I expect he'll exceed that by quite a bit by the end of the season. Although I'm still waiting to see what Boqvist's potential is, it's hard for me to say I'm more pumped about any prospect than Anderson. The thought of him continuing on this trajectory and becoming a RW for the Devils in the next few years is really exciting. Bratt-Palmieri-Anderson down the right side looks good to me. Thanks @LittleBallofHate for all the updates.

Uni prospects scare me. I’m always scared about getting the Butcher treatment done to us lol

You mean the Kerfoot treatment?  I viewed that almost as a trade that both teams benefitted from.

I meant the Butcher treatment but I was talking from colorado’s view point hahah. Totally forgot about Kerfoot honestly. But it still scares me a little.

I will say that Butcher leaving Colorado is all the Avs' fault, it was an awful mismanagement of assets. They told Will after his sophomore season they weren't going to be interested in signing him at any point, and he just returned the favor by turning his back on them when they came crawling back two years later. As long as we don't do that to Joey, Davies, or Walsh, I think we'll be fine.

Wow, I didn’t know the whole story behind it

This week's prospects update - only have the one but if the other one shows, I'll edit this post:

He had this to say about NPops, FWIW:

-Nikita Popugaev has been getting the short end of the stick, registering just 43 seconds of ice-time in 1 KHL game this week. While alarming at first, it's somewhat common for young players on very competitive teams in European leagues to ride the pine for a while. It's essentially a "paying their dues" type thing, so we just have to be very patient with him in his development.

Popugaev has fallen off the planet. He had sounded promising.

If anything he seems pretty fragile. I don't regret drafting him (after falling to 4 rnd) worth a shot.  Don't hold out a lot of hope.

I'm very excited about Boqvist, had him rated as a 1st rounder last year and I think he's really gonna be something for us. Hoping he might get a contract this summer so we can see what he can do in North America

He'll undoubtedly be signed but probably loaned back to the SHL next season unless he wins a spot on the NHL team.

Do you think he can make it? No doubt, he'll be signed but do you think he can make the big club next year? How's he looking so far?

Possible but I wouldn't bet on it. He's been *very good* in his limited action this season but it's only been 12 games in the SHL (8 points and a + player relative to the team in Corsi).

I guess I could see him squeak in at the bottom of the line-up out of camp if some things with other players go his way, but in the end they probably want to take it easy with him, let him play and develop in a bigger role and he'll go back to Sweden.

Nice thanks for the update! I've always seen him as a player 1-2-3 years away from being ready, so no need to rush him. Long-term player/RFA for us anyway!
