Based on what? The sh!tty KHL and the Olympics with bums? When's the last time he got hit by someone of an NHL caliber? He had a bad back 6 years ago, let's see how he handles getting hit now.

His back injury from the playoffs was not something chronic. The last thing he’s worried about is getting hit.

They just announced this on the draft feed I'm watching. Is anyone but Rags fans surprised? The dude wants to win.

Only time will tell if he can still hack it in the NHL. I would love to see him fail miserably, but I’m not prepared to say that will happen based on the handful of KHL highlights I’ve seen.

Same. He has to at least still have a shot even if he has lost a step. I don't think he will fail as much as we'd like, but I still think LA overpaid him.

LA definitely overpayed. But he still has his elite shot and release. He's a big body that can shoot and skate. He might've lost a little bit of his skating but I don't think it's by a big stretch.

IMO the best year Kovalchuk has had as an NHL player is the 2011-2012 seaosn with us. Scored a bunch and his defensive game was significantly better. He was aware on both sides of the ice.

Truth. He became an all situations player; Something not many thought he had the ability to do. Kovy as a Devil was awesome and outwardly seemed like a great teammate and great role guy. He did what was asked of him 100%. The way he left tarnishes the hell out of that even if it was a favor in the long term. Everything fell apart that year.

Absolutely. He was a commited Devil. The way things unfolded was shocking and my level of respect for Kovalchuk now is pretty damn low. He was my favorite player on the team as he always gave his 120%, but the way he just quit on the organization was disgraceful.

Who do you guys think the 5 teams are meeting with Tavares? We know 2 for sure...

My Guess....SJ/TOR//VGK/WPG/PHL??

Idk if PHL can afford him but Tavares on that team puts that team dangerously close to making a deep playoff run.Couturier is locked for 4 more years at a huge steal too.
