Assistant Coach Geoff Ward leaves NJ, goes to CGY

According to Elliotte Friedman, Geoff Ward is leaving the Devils and headed to the Flames to be Bill Peters' assistant.

He was mostly responsible for the power play here.

I liked Ward okay, I think they should be able to replace him fine but who knows.

To continue on Joe Mullen, all he did over the course of 9 years running the Philadelphia power play...Averaged 20.5% over those years good for 3rd among all teams, Washington and San Jose were 1 / 2. Philadelphia was 13th in POINTS% so they didn't take advantage of this PP.

I'll ask him tonight. I plan on making the "big" move and asking him for beers after the game. Hope I don't screw up my words and accidentally offer fellatio.

If I had a dollar for every time that happened....

...you'd be broke, because its never been an accident.

I don’t see it happening but if Elias wanted the job, I’d be really excited to see that happen.

Me too, but I can’t see it just yet- I follow Patty on Instagram, and he seems to REALLY be enjoying retirement right now.

Not surprised. Patty is loving retirement right now. By staying in the Czech Republic, he can have his cake and eat it too. Can’t do that with an 82 game grind.

Yeah and didn't he basically say he wanted to be around his family/hometown for a little while?  His girls are still really young, so I doubt he waits for them to graduate before making another move, but I imagine it'll be a couple years though before he gets into any hockey-related role again.  Guy's only been retired a few months lol.

I'm sure when the time is right he'll inquire about a position, and at that point I think, if there wasn't something already open for him, you have to create some type of position for him to at least get in with the team, and then go from there.
