Who the fvck knows if this is legit.

Edit: Looks fake, but apparently called the Nash trade a while ago.  So.. we'll see.

Edit 2: This is 100% bullsh!t.  Carry on with your night.

He didn’t call the Nash trade.

That would be a sh!tty deal for us. We give up Zacha, Zajac, and Speers for Johnson and Ryan and some “late round picks”? I’ll pass. What the fvck would we do that for?

Whoever it is has to be a Devils fan.  Only Devils fans would think to throw Blake Speers into a fake trade rumor because there are maybe 10 non-Devils fans in the world who know who he is right now.

If he’s a Devils fan, he’s a pretty fvcking stupid one, because that trade blows for us lol.

after all of this speculation thats been going on for days and days, id really laugh if we weren't even part of this whole three way deal that everyone keeps going on about.

I won't believe it until it actually comes true.

If the Devils are truly in on this deal..................... there is NO RETURN that I settle for unless it involves Point. I ain't helping improve Tampa Bay unless I get a great chip in return. And Point is that great chip.

Otherwise, leave us Devils fans alone with this crap deal.

Lou has watched the game pass by him, said fvck you I’m not changing, and is repeating the exact same fvcking mistakes the old bastard made when Neids left after the first lock out: panic signings that are atrocious and make no sense, now in the hopes or replacing Tavares.

I honestly wonder what he means regarding the interview period.  I feel like it served its purpose almost.. exactly.

Maybe he's just annoyed he didn't get another week to try and convince JT to stick around.

It sounds like he’s pissed he lost another high profile UFA to me.

Kucherov signs 8 year extension with Tampa. 8 x 9.5AAV.

Wonder if this was the holdup on the Karlsson trade.  Easier to plan Karlsson's extension with Kucherov's number known.

Serious Golden State Warriors thing going on in Tampa right now.

Or their plan B in the wake of accepting a failed trade negotiation with OTT.

They'll still get him I think.

They know now exactly how much they can afford to give Karlsson - or rather, how much they need to move.

Every time a transaction takes place, we all sit here and say ‘DOMINOES!!!!’ It probably means nothing, other than Kucherov signed an extension.

Good signing by them...locked up long term, and at a pretty reasonable price, considering what he's done the last couple years.

Also, my oldest step-son works at that restaurant :)

It is a hard cap. States have different income tax laws- sadly, those are the breaks. If you want an example of a fake cap, look no further than the NBA.

Tampa's effective salary cap compared to a team in California is 30% higher.  That's an absolutely ridiculous advantage.

It’s always been this way- just how it is. Nothing can be done about it. The Panthers have the same advantage. They’ve sucked for eternity.

"hard cap"

This is literally the first offseason people are complaining about this, compared to other sports the NHL has the best system. Lower taxes are just those team's lure, just like the Original 6 has that lure, LA has the big market lure, different teams have different appeals and that's just one that the non-traditional markets have. Different guys want different things in free agency, not every guy is chasing pure money so the attraction of less taxes has less weight on certain multi-millionaires.
