Jeez this is Q's fifth development camp?  How much more development does this guy need?

Right? Dude was drafted in 2014, has like 10 games played in the NHL, he’s still attending development camps at 22? I’m not saying he definitely won’t be an NHL regular one day for someone, but it sure as hell ain’t looking good.....

It's not that unusual for players who played in NHL games to go back to dev camp.  I think Zacha was in there last year after playing pretty much a full season of the NHL under his belt.  However, I can't remember another Devils player to have gone to 5 development camps.

Oh I know I was pointing out the paltry number of games he’s played in the NHL to this point and the fact he’s attending his FIFTH development camp as evidence that he probably isn’t going to have much of an NHL career.

Anyone from junior hockey who didn't make the NHL right away attended 5 development camps.  So, Kujawinski and Boucher attended 5.   Nick Palmieri probably attended 5, though they might not have bothered to send him in 2011.  Corrente probably attended 5, or would've if he was healthy.

That’s not a really impressive list.

They're on KHL deals.

When do those deals expire, and is there any actual shot of those guys coming over here?  I've heard somewhat good things about each of them here and there, but I'm wondering if it was just a waste trying to acquire their rights if there's no chance of it materializing into anything.

Didn't know they all attended 5 camps.  However it is telling what kind of players do go to 5 camps.  It's basically borderline NHLers which is what Q seems to be at this point.

I think there was an article posted by The Athletic a while ago strongly suggesting his off-ice habits aren't NHL-ready.

That's to say, he's out of shape and doesn't eat/train/practice at an NHL level.  Or I guess at the level one might need to if they ever wanted to play in the NHL..

Think it's safe to label this kid a bust unfortunately.

Yeah saw that too and there were reports at training camp last year that he pretty much failed his physical and that he was overweight.  He even looked it during the early parts of the season up in Bing.

As a fan that makes me pretty mad.  But whatever, ultimately it's his loss.  Have to wonder if his name kept him around longer than he would've otherwise been.

He does look pretty soft. I guess not everyone can make it, otherwise we'd all be out there playing instead of here talking about it lol.

re:  Q...gotta love a guy who doesn't seem to be all that great to begin with AND doesn't work hard.  Oh well, whenever I think of Devils who might factor into the near future, Q's never on my list anyway.  Still think he's a throw-in in a future deal...maybe at this season's deadline.

Man do i ever feel dumb for being upset and argued with just about everyone here when Lou didn't give up our 30th first round pick for the Kovy fiasco. That way we managed to snag Matteau AND Quenneville!!!! Instead of having the 11th pick with which we could have got someone like Larkin, Pastrnak or wtv. So true that it WAS the right thing to do. Turned out amazing for us in the end

You mean the 29th overall in 2012 (Matteau). That was the one to give up, and we wouldn’t have moved from 14 to 30 in 2014 and drafted someone other than Q.
