Colorado Rockies 1976 5,312 Posted October 8, 2018 Pointless to try to judge Kovy on a game-to-game basis...even in his prime, as we saw, he could look awesome in some games, and almost like he had no instincts at all in others...especially before Lemaire started getting through to him. If anything, I'm curious as to how much of Lemaire's teachings are still ingrained in Kovy. I think that might have been the first guy to have ever properly coached Kovy (and the results were showing)...I think the 2011-12 version of Ilya was him at his most "complete". In a way it's too bad that we never saw how he might have been, had he continued down that path...but 2013 Kovy clearly didn't want to be here, and that was pretty much that, as far as trying to create any alternate timelines go. Anyway, probably going to be at least 30-35 games before we really know what kind of NHL player Kovy is...and even then, there will be reason to wonder about how he holds up over an 82-game season.
MadDog2020 7,358 Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) Ok... I’m not against fun. But really. fvck this sh!t. Beyond fvcking lame. Hopefully this doesn’t become a thing now, but it probably will, seeing as how everyone copies everything and everyone needs to be a fvcking social media star. I knew that there was going to be a lot of afternoon games this season but I assumed it would be on the weekend. There are games on right now. In the afternoon. ON A WEEKDAY... Colorado Rockies 1976 5,312 Posted October 8, 2018 Two things: 1) That's really awful. Every part of me is sore from having watched that. 2) Those thirds would look a HELL of a lot better without that eyesore of a crest that looks like a B but isn't really a B. The Canes' standard crests (or a slightly modified version of it) would be a HUGE improvement.

I’m so sick of everyone always having to one up everything. No one can ever just leave well enough alone. NJDfan1711 1,461 Posted October 8, 2018 Yeah, that celebration is pretty stupid. I can't remember who was the first to do the stick salute, was it the Rags? But I absolutely hated when every team started to copy it.

Give credit to the Rags (unfortunately) for coming up with it, and let them do it. We, and other teams, should find other cool ways to acknowledge our own fans. Note: What the Hurricanes did is not a cool way.
mfitz804 8,821 Posted October 8, 2018 Didn’t bother me because I don’t care what other teams do.
DevsMan84 2,066 Posted October 8, 2018 As soon as someone injures themselves slamming against the glass that celebration will come to a screeching halt.

They lost 3-1 at Carolina the following night in the second game of a home-and-home and had not achieved a winning record again before improving to 2-1-0 Monday." MB3 4,810 Posted October 9, 2018 That's Murray's.... 4th? concussion? 5th? Poor kid. I think they made the right move selecting Murray over Flower, but hindsight being 20/20 I probably take the guy who's brains arent halfway to scrambled eggs.
