I have to say, at this point the Devils PK hot streak has a lot to do with luck (along with good play).

Not sure why Severson decided to try to disrupt JVR from the outside rather than the inside.

I understand Greene's instinct to play the passer there, which is usually the right decision, but man, I feel like if he just took the angle and went after the puck carrier Van RiemsDyk, he could've prevented that play.

It wasn't necessarily a bad decision to leave the point and create a pass option for the forward, but the play wasn't executed well and they got caught

2-on-1s are so hard to play 100% correctly lol. But yes, it's true that the right play is usually to play the pass and let the goalie face the shooter. Maybe he thought Seves would get back to JVR in time.
