There's no way "can't make me happy" is my reputation on here, because I'm always the overwhelmingly positive guy. The Rangers getting Panarin and the fact that at 1pm on July 1st the name "Devils", "New Jersey" and "Shero" hasn't been mentioned in connection with a single player has soured me.

Yea-- Not going to be in agreement here. Sorry my dude.

Marner with a long term deal is worth 4 first rounders, in my humble opinion

I think I agree. Add Marner and sign Hall, you've got a good chance of your first rounders being later anyway. And you get Marner for his prime. I think that's worth it.

This just in, Devils sign Andy Greene to 14 year extension in which he will then be in his prime.  Which happens to also be when he can start collecting from his 401K.

Whew, that had me worried, we’ve got him locked up.  Smooth sailing from here boys.

More info will be posted in the Devils calendar opening night...granted it’s a Devils AARP calendar but it’s in there nonetheless.

I honestly think @MB3 and @Daniel have switched bodies, Freaky Friday style lmfao.

The Subban trade pulled me back from the cliff.

Re the Rags, I'll be more upset if some idiot GM out there does them a favor and takes Shattenkirk's and/or Staal's contracts off their books so they can go out and get a center.

We can save money by not having to stock his locker with hair care products. Win-win.

Or actually be able to lock up their own guys next summer

Incidental costs were killing this team

We have plenty of money.

Right now and probably for down the road.  But just running the numbers in my head if in four years, you have $50 million plus tied up in five players (Hall, Hughes, Nico, big offersheet guy, and Ty Smith) there might be an issue.  Again, I'd say worry about four years in four years, but it's not something you don't think about.

Mike Johnson on TSN just brought up a really good point regarding the upcoming CBA:

Duchene's contract has its peak money in the potential lock out year, he's suggesting that players are more confident that there won't be a lockout this time around.
