I do like those unis as occasionals, but I would never want the Pats to go back to them full-time...the current ones just feel right.  But yeah, I would be 100% on board with the Pats and Dolphins playing their game in Miami wearing throwback unis every year...hell, if anything it'd be very fitting...the Pats didn't exactly win a ton wearing the old reds, and they don't seem to win down there much now either, soooooo...

As a jersey guy (I'm far more into hockey jerseys than anything else), I would love to get my hands on a Bledsoe 75th NFL jersey...it's the blue one above with white numbers (and red outlines).  Hard to come by though.

You’ve had arguably the greatest dynasty in sports history wearing the current uniforms, so I’m sure they do ‘feel right’. 🤣Just like the Fins won wearing the throwbacks (which weren’t throwbacks at the time, of course).... the Pats were generally garbage in the red jersey days, which I’d imagine is why most fans would never want to go back full time. Just like the Devils wearing the red and green- nice a couple times a year, but we sucked for the majority of the time we wore those jerseys, so we don’t want them full time. The red and black feels right for us not only because it looks good, but we won Cups in it.

I remember when the Pats went to the 1993 Flying Elvises, thinking "Huh?", but really digging the blue.  The 95-01 Flying Elvises were OK to me at the time, but like I said, they aged horribly...unlike the reds, I would never consider those fun to see even on a throwback level...to me, they're the mullet and parachute pants of the Patriot jersey history.

I liked the current design from Day 1...I thought it was a solid evolution from the late 90s design.  Sure, it always helps to see championships and then to associate those championships with a particular jersey, but I just like them...and they've held up well, never looking dated.  I wouldn't want to ever see them dumped for the old reds (though I do like those...they make me think of Tony Eason, Irving Fryar, and Andre Tippett).

I was actually quite thrilled when the Devils switched out the green for the black, and then tweaked the template...I was excited as hell when I heard that it would be happening, and even happier when I saw the actual design on ice.  I would NEVER want to see the Devils go back to red and green full time, and it's not so much that they lost a lot, in that it was always an odd color scheme to begin with (even if the reasons for the red and green made sense, based on what those colors represented), and I was never a big fan of the road jerseys (though I very much like the clean look of the Xmas whites).  The Devils could win 5 Cups in their current pajama-top floaties, and though I don't hate them anymore (I did initially), I still think the original red and blacks were PERFECT as is.  I still hope the Devils will either go back to the red and blacks, or some version of them that incorporates some of the old red and green templates (but with no green).  But I think the current iteration is the one we'll see for at least a few more seasons.

With camp a week away, some crappy news. Hopefully Coach makes a full recovery.

I’d be remiss too if I didn’t mention what happened to Kendrick Norton a couple weeks ago. Poor kid lost his left arm, but thankfully is still alive. Turns out he tried changing lanes to make an exit he was about to miss, and that’s what caused the accident. I hope he can recover as best as possible and find peace.

Pretty gutsy move by the new coach Flores. No fear of ruffling any feathers. No complacency. I'm sure it has happened before but I don't recall positional coaches fired during training camp

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27281614/dolphins-fire-o-line-coach-one-week-camp

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins have fired offensive line coach Pat Flaherty and replaced him with Dave DeGuglielmo.

Flaherty was hired in February shortly after Brian Flores took over as head coach, but the Dolphins' offensive line has struggled throughout the spring and summer.

I’m cool with it. I’ll try and give Flores the benefit of the doubt on this one, and I’m glad he nipped it in the bud. DeGuglielmo is an upgrade. He’s a solid o-line coach.

On a very sad note, Nick Buoniconti passed away. It’s a very sad day for the Dolphins organization. He is the first of our HOF’ers to pass. He played on those great teams in the 70’s well before my time, but he was the heart and soul of the No Name Defense, and I’ll always appreciate and respect what he did for the franchise. He leaves a great legacy behind, both on the field and off, especially for what he did with his son Marc to build the Miami Project into what it is today. May he Rest In Peace. https://www.miamidolphins.com/news/dolphins-alumni-on-the-passing-of-nick-buoniconti

Won't include a first rounder if it happens, which is a pretty obvious considering they don't know what they have in Rosen.  Would also tend to show that they think highly of Tua, Fromm and Herbert.

As long as Tunsil and the 1 are off the table- giddyup.

Mando is saying that it might be Kiko and Stills and non-first round pick.  That would definitely work for me, although the word is that Houston will not take a kneeling player under any circumstances, so Still might be out.  That leads perhaps to Ballage since Lamar Miller went down.  As Grier appears to be of the running backs are a dime a dozen school, maybe that's what it ends up being.

I could see it being Ballage/Drake, Kiko, and a 2 or 3 (probably the 2).... I could deal with that.

There seems to be more noise, mainly from Mando, that Grier has been trying to trade Tunsil pretty much all offseason and was prepared to trade for Clowney and a pick.

If this is true, Grier is incompetent to the point of making Jeff Ireland look like Belichik.  The team will only win when it gets its QB of the future who they will throw to the wolves for the sake of cap space that won’t be an issue.  Did these idiots just see what happened to the career of a sure thing generational QB?

Hopefully, this is just Mando being Mando.  If he’s right though, I’m really glad I’ve picked a time to be meh about the NFL.

Flores pretty much shut it down "There is no trade for Laremy Tunsil" now granted this is the NFL people lie through there teeth. There is no trade in place...until there is a trade in place.

But I really don't see them getting rid of Tunsil considering he's a cornerstone. Did he even allow a sack last season? He's a really good player and one that is young enough to be a part of the solution when the rebuild is complete.

Clowney would kind of worry me. World of talent but not exactly a guy that plays at full speed all the time. And I'd never do Tunsil for Clowney + 1st...this is too nonsensical to be real. On a rebuilding franchise Clowneys long term commitment would worry me

There's one report that the Dolphins asked the Texans for Clowney a first plus another pick.  Since Clowney can in effect veto any deal who knows if they Dolphins were willing to give less and this is leakers saving face.

If we trade Tunsil, it better be for nothing short of a Herschel Walker-like package. Clowney, two 1’s, and two 2’s. Word is Houston has been relentless in their pursuit of Tunsil because they feel they are a LT away from being legit.... if that’s how they feel, pay up. If they refuse to pay up, they must not want him that bad. I’d rather keep the cornerstone LT, thank you very much.

LOLWUT...didn't expect to see this after Clowney got traded.  Wonder just how huge this package is.  If it's only one low first-round pick and a bunch of depth picks after that I'm not impressed.

Seems a bit better if it's two firsts and a two plus, but the Texans are counting on them being low firsts obviously

Two first rounders is a good return. Even if they're back end first rounders you should be able to snag some quality players there and plug two holes for a long period of time.

Play your cards right and one should be a pro bowler, the other an above average starter. Though Tunsil could've been useful to them and definitely in his prime when the Dolphins are build back up. They're counting on being able to find someone of Tunsil's value with at least one of those firsts. Stills is worthless to Miami they just want him gone.

We now have two picks in each of the first four rounds next year. Plenty of ammo to move up for a QB. Probably won’t need to though lol. Gonna be a LOOONG season, but we are loaded up with picks for the future.

We also now have two 1’s (our own and Houston’s), and two 2’s (our own and Houston’s) in 2021....

One other thing is that Houston is one of those weird teams where everything can go wrong and it ends up that one of the firsts we get is a high one.
