Daniel Posted October 22, 2019 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Stevens also arguably was the death knell to Larsson ever becoming more of a two way defenseman, although it's not necessarily his fault in that Larsson may not have really ever had it in him unless he was being coached by Larry Robinson. I'm as livid as anyone that the coaches are still here, although maybe Fitzgerald is gradually going to be the one who's really in charge. Stevens though is not the answer and even if you think that he's shown he can be a good coach in general, it seems pretty clear that he doesn't have his heart in it anymore. Triumph Posted October 22, 2019 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Larsson doesn't skate well enough to be involved in offense. What Stevens got rid of was Larsson's tendency to wait as long as possible to make the breakout pass, something which was probably relatively successful but which led to him getting constantly caved in by opposing forwards. His body took lots of abuse for the first 3 years he was in the league - it would not surprise me if he is a 60 games a year guy from here on out just because of that. Good locker room guy when he played beer league for us a few times haha. I was gonna say the same thing - pretty crazy/cool that we have someone here who knows/is friends with someone that's a part of the team on that level. He's the one who will get sticks to the guys when they break theirs during play or wtv. Fun to see him posting stuff cause he's always with the team and posting about it.
