"Expected goals" - A stat created by people who believe scoring actual goals and winning are not important.

The only reason “expected goals” is important is because it can lead to actual goals, which are what actually matter.

Wood gets to stay in the lineup despite only scoring 1 goal that went off his ass because apparently he is great in the "expected goals" category.

Gusev is told to sit despite him tied for the team lead in real goals.

Much like jazz is about the notes you don't hear, Hynes is all about those goals you might get if Woods butt is in the right place at the right time.

Wood is also a -6 and takes dumb penalties but yeah Gusev is somehow a worst detriment on the ice with his -1. This really is an absolute joke.

Do we buy cory out next year and grab an old vet like Miller or someone? At what point do you say enough?

It’s to early to talk about it. Corey May play better in season ending and everybody will believe that’s his real comeback. Another one after all but super-dooper true comeback and now he will be decent goalie like he was years ago.

Not many things scarier than being a Devils fan right now. Well done.

Only someone who isn’t a Jets fan would say this.  As a fan of both teams I can assure you, the Jets are worse.... so much worse....  😭

I don't think I'm buying him out. I'm burying him in the minors, putting him on LTIR, or doing whatever I can to get him off my Cap number - including forcing him to retire or not report to minors, thus terminating.

Have to agree, I’d rather not pay him.

Burying him in the minors only removes $1m of his cap hit.  Not a tenable solution.

LTIR doesn't remove him from the cap, it only lets you exceed the cap by the amount of his salary.  With Jack Hughes on a bonus laden contract this is not a good idea - it could push money on to subsequent seasons.

Outright termination for failure to report is near-impossible.

I’m expecting him to be here for the duration of his contract.

i always had this theory about Schneider supporting that he may be mentally weak a little. It's like he's always struggling when it's time to come out big.

Looking at his career it's like he's always been awesome... when he didn't have that much pressure. He was awesome in Vancouver as a backup, but he didnt have all the pressure cause Luongo was the guy.

Then he was traded to NJ, he was awesome then the team was useless and couldn't score to save their lives. I guess you could say the pressure was on him to be perfect since the team couldnt score but also... we were not really competitive so it was not a huge pressure in a way. Cause it's like as as soon as we started to have a decent team scoring, he started to suck.

I don't really think this is really it but it's worth mentioning i guess. I know he was injured and all. But it's clear that his head is part of the problem too

It's such a shame, buddy would stand on his head like crazy and we all felt bad for him cause the team couldnt score at all. Now we score and he cannot stop a beach ball
