One thing that is encouraging though is our depth up front. The offense looks great. We're creating chances like crazy, even though the new guys in don't have as much chemistry together and all. They'll get adjusted no doubt.

Per Laughlin on the post-game, Schneider is traveling to Buffalo.

Well that’s encouraging. I’m pretty sure I was next in line to play goalie but I’m busy tomorrow.

There’s a lot of that going on in this thread lol.

Think we used our timeout when it was 4-2 and Schneider was doing that weird “trying to unstick your ballsac from the inside of your leg” wobble for a solid 6 minutes.

There has never been a more accurate description of a guy trying to walk off an injury.

Goose looked really good too. Wish he scored in OT, but oh well. Defence needs a few adjustments which will get discussed tonight/tomorrow no doubt. I expect a W tomorrow in Buff.

Wood playing most of the third while we protect a lead was complete garbage

Well he did miss scoring the winning goal by like an inch...

Coleman’s goal made my day. That was amazing.

Not only one handed, not only elevated, he didn’t even look. Just kind of flung in the general direction of the exact right spot.

Reminded me of that goal he scored in Pittsburgh a couple years ago. Amazing effort by the Pickle Man.

Thank god we started Hayden over Boqvist! Otherwise we would’ve missed out on all his wonderful time hopelessly pinned in the defensive zone!

One word:  PISSED

Anyway...

Thank you Erika for being so incredibly friendly and accommodating with my daughter.  She LOVED meeting you.  You could not have been nicer.

And wow Blake.  Goal #2 reminded me so much of Brylin, 2000 SCF Game 1.

Yeah that was definitely the difference in this game. If we only had an unproven Swede the outcome would have been totally different.

Colemans goal will probably be the best goal all year but it was all down hill after that.

Had a pretty damn full building with a 4-0 lead with 20 mins and like 10 seconds to go and they sh!t their pants. That won't bring people back.

Let me just add that I love how people downshift so quickly from “I’m so excited for this season” to “we lost one game, it’s all fvcked”.

Hayden only played 1:27 in the third and was on for 2 goals against so I don't think the Swede could have been any worse

Yeah lol. It's really frustrating and it sucks, but we have to keep in mind this is the first game of the season. Most of these guys didn't have a whole lot of chemistry together and Blackwood came in cold. Not trying to make excuses cause a 4-0 lead can't be lost like that, it's completely unacceptable. But at least we got a point and adjustments will be made. Take the point, take the positives in this game (offense), and move on to Buffalo.

To be fair with seeing Cory go down it certainly felt that way. Really hopeful it's only cramps.

Can you quote one person who said it’s all fvcked from here on?

Pretty sure he meant it in a general way. Like people saying  « same old devils », « fire the coach », etc. and being all dramatic after the first game of the season. Sure the loss sucks, but I saw some positives despite that and the mistakes made can be fixed.

It was more a general attitude than a direct quote. But I can try.

They win against the Sabres, it’s all forgotten.  Was tough to see in person though.  Just such a damned BUMMER...

I’m sure. I’m glad you has a positive experience with Erika that didn’t end up with your being Issued a restraining order.

Well, so far...
