Depends on who they is. No one with any clout was calling Hughes generational. From what I remember Lafarnier is actually supposed to be "that" good.

Yes they were. Saw the term used multiple times. And with Matthews, and Dahlin.

People tend to use generational when they should be using franchise. There can literally only be one or two “generational” players per generation. Like Crosby/Ovi, and right now, McDavid.

I'm not arguing with you. Every person I read that knows anything about hockey always said Elite about Hughes, not generational.

I'm not going to act like I have a book on the kid, I am just saying what I have heard. We will all have to wait and see.

Does PK get booed everywhere? I never noticed it before this season.

Or is it just racist places like Philly and Boston?

Boston mtl rivalry maybe? 😋

I disagree. I would say Gretzky and Mario both were.

Same with Crosby/Ovi.

That’s why the word “generational” is stupid. One isn’t generational when someone else is also generational.

Probably goes back to Habs/Bruins bad blood.

And what was Philly’s problem?

Nico is getting pretty good at face offs.

*silver linings*

Yes, and then we immediately give the puck away.

People can keep complaining and saying “Fire Hynes” but coaching wasn’t the problem tonight. We seem to be turning the puck over at an extremely alarming rate.

Shutout 2 out 5 games. 2 blown leads (one was 4-0). PP is 0/14, and the PK isn’t much better.

gotta do something Ray...

Not sure I’d agree. Whoever is coaching the PP is certainly a problem right now.

Missed pucks, pucks played into the defender’s feet, awful giveaways, etc.

Those aren’t coaching issues in my opinion.

LaFreniere is supposed to be way better than Hughes which is just crazy to think about.

Looks like my winter afternoons are opening wayyyyy up.

I don’t think that’s so crazy. Thus far all I can say about Hughes is he’s fast.
