I would like to direct everyone to this post. It has made history.

For the first time in the creation of the forum njdevs.com, someone has said “maybe i was wrong.” instead of tripling down on their point.

this is a day that will live in the history books of this great forum.

:)

Funny and you're probably half-joking here, but not really that accurate.  I've seen my fair share of "I was wrong"s on here, from multiple parties.  This place really isn't quite as rotten as you often make it sound.

I just watched the Scouching report on Holtz and it made me very sad.  I'm still optimistic though and very excited to see him on the receiving end of Lil Jizzy.

same. But to be fair scouching reports on ALL available prospects made me sad lol hopefully he just analyzed a bad 7 games streak lol

In any event, he should be saying it himself now, no?

WTF are the pens doing? Dumping their 2 time cup winning goalie for spare parts? They must really like Jarry.

Also, when can the Devils buy out Corey, and if now, why the heck are they not doing it?

They were likely going to lose him for nothing next year if they kept him. Big chance Seattle would have picked him.

I have a slightly different take on Mukhamadullin. At about this time last year, when the draft rankings for 2020 first started coming out, Mukhamadullin was someone I was really interested in. He was this big, mobile defenseman with some high end offensive tools. His rankings back then were significantly higher, and he was one of the top rated defenseman along with Drysdale. I don't think Schneider or Guhle were even in the conversation at that point. Mukhamadullin then spent the year in the KHL as a 17 year old, holding his own enough to get consistent play. While he didn't generate many points at the KHL level, he still had 10 over 13 games in the MHL, which is pretty impressive.

The way I see it is he didn't regress this season. He wasn't able to develop his offensive game in the KHL, but he proved to be solid in his own end. I get that we all want to see our defenseman putting up points, but to me, hanging in the KHL with men is quite impressive, and not reason for all the internet draft analysts to knock him down so far in the rankings. This season, he plays on the same KHL team as the highly regarded Rodion Amirov, and has produced at a similar rate to him (small sample size). Those offensive tools are still there.

While it is definitely a reach of a pick, I respect the fact that Fitz was swinging for the fences on this one. I don't buy the argument that he drafted a defenseman just for the sake of filling a positional need. He got plenty of mid-bottom pairing options in last year's draft. I am optimistic about the pick.

with dmen like Jeremie Poirier who are elite at producing offence and scoring but are really bad defensively to the point where it's hurting their stock that much. Why aren't they switching them to wingers so that they'd be a decent defensive winger vs a defenseman bad at defense? lol

That was very nice of LA to give a second round pick to the Rangers for a guy they banished to europe last year.

It’s absolutely fvcking incredible that those idiots constantly get bailed out of every last fvck-up they make.

its quite frustrating. For a long time now, most of our "great paper moves" seems to be biting us in the ass while the Rangers bad decisions seems to go their way constantly
