Babcock

Absolutely yes to Babcock, and there are some rumors that he saw this coming and was feeling out other teams over the past week or so.  So hopefully that's why Ray hasn't fired Hynes yet.

Whatever his reputation, the indisputable fact is that if you give him a good roster he'll win significantly more games than he'll lose.  So either you'll forever stop using the gifs of Ray with the sunglasses because he hasn't assembled good players, or you realize that we need a proven coach, who is there to be had for nothing and at a monetary discount since the Leafs are still obligated to pay him for a while.

And his reputation is probably not accurate.  He certainly did not stand in the way of Matthews and Marner becoming very wealthy men.

We already have a coach who loves playing 4th liners way too much. We don't need someone who would do it even more.

He played fourth liners to the tune of the team averaging nearly 3.5 goals a game the previous two seasons, come on now.  All coaches play fourth liners to a degree, you're kidding yourself if you think you'll find a successful coach that doesn't play fourth liners 8-10 minutes a game and look for grinders.

And btw this is just embarassing

How ridiculous that Hynes is the fifth longest tenured coach. Clearly he has done nothing to warrant this top 5 distinction. Fire him yesterday.

There are questions about Babcock but on his worst day he would be an upgrade over our loser of a head coach. And fire him whether Babcock wants to come here or not.
