Even after multiple replays, I have zero clue what happened to palms...

Palms get shot? Didn't look like much but clearly in pain.

It seemed a bit over dramatic.

We're talking about when he was reeling in pain and rolling all around after Mackinnon gave him an elbow after palms was crosschecking him several times.

I thought he embellished at first but no, he just got a well deserved elbow to the gut. He cross checked MacKinnon in the back 2-3 times. That’s what you get.

Fvck you David Conte, wherever you are!

We drafted a PK specialist with the 6th overall pick that year basically.

I told myself coming into this season that I was going to stop harping on where Zacha was picked, as it really is just beating a dead horse at this point, but it’s so hard when the guy has 3 goals at the halfway mark lol

That pick really did set us back. You just can’t miss on a top 10 pick like that. Especially when it was such a deep 1st round...

not a good game, overall. but not a beatdown like our earlier games.  MB needs to fight thru screens better. we need our kids back not enough talent to sit 2 top 6... so far we are doing ok on this tough 10 game stretch.. need to bounce right back and take 3 or 4 pts these next two river teams

Add in his threatening to play in the KHL, add in Ratanan's performance last night, add in missing out on him, Barzal, Werenski, Meier, and a host of others for a guy who is a bottom 6 at best. It's just maddening. I hope they trade him. Period.

I don’t even blame them for not going defense at the time, but watching Rantanen, Barzal, Boeser, Meier, Connor, and pretty much every other forward taken after Zacha continue to light it up is get old.

It really is.. "Almost"  just doesn't cut it for a high first rounder.  What were they thinking?

That was the genius selection of David Conte before he was finally shown the door after 15 years of pathetic futility. And now he's a scout with Lou for the Islanders.

If I remember correctly Zacha never lighted it up in Sarnia either, but bottom line Devils desperately need Blackwood to be franchise goalie from that draft, if that were to happen and Zacha develop an identity of serviceable 3rd line center after Nico and Hughes the draft would be considered OK

I think the reason the Zacha draft really stings is because there are so many good players taken after him , it was a decent draft in terms of Depth.

Everyone has to feel a bit stupid though as Aho who is like 5th in points for that draft was taken in the second.

Also we should count ourselves lucky we didn't pick up Lawson Crowse, who we were rumoured to be interested in.

Finally Boston had three picks in a row, and only De Brusk had not turned out to be garbage. The first pick after their three in a row was Barzal.

I’m sure finding Pasta at 25th the year before takes the sting out of that one...
