I figured it would be good to have a place where we can update on a regular basis how the Draft picks the Devil's received are shaping up. First let's set out the picks and conditions (if any):

i wish we would have seen this much desperation from the NHL and players to get a season going when they were having a money tug war and seasons were cancelled for a lockout.

Minnesota passed Arizona in the standings and as of now now the pick is top 10. They also have two games at hand on AZ. https://www.nhl.com/standings/2019/wildcard

That's it, this off season a battle of the Devil's GIFs , each round a classic Devil's GIF will go head to head with another!

Who needs the playoffs?

None of the teams we have picks from were in action last night. But the oilers did Vancouver a favour and smashed the Preds 8-3.

A Nashville win would have brought them level on points with Vancouver in the two WC spots.

Absolutely. I’ll be the host.

And tomorrow the Nucks face the Yotes. 100% a must win for the Nucks.

 Yep . Huge, huge game.

As I said before they play each other three times down the stretch, so it will be crazy close.

Yotes beat the Nucks, they’re both level in points now along with the Jets. Wild are a point back, Preds two back.

Nucks still control their own destiny with two more games left to play.

Arizona's 1st rounder: 13th overall

The Coyotes made a late period comeback scoring 3 unanswered with 9 minutes to go against the Canucks. They are still outside the playoffs but are level on points with Winnipeg and Vancouver. If they make the playoffs and get knocked out on the first round it won't make too much difference to this pick position.

That pick that Vancouver is trying desperately hard to keep this year.  : 15th +

See above. Vancouver with another capitulation, another blown lead and massive uncertainty over even making the playoffs. It really is a shame this pick is conditional. As Jag pointed out they have two games in hand but they need to get their sh!t together quickly. Their next game is Friday against the Avs. The Flames face the Coyotes and the Jets play the Golden Knights so if we can avoid teams splitting points then things can change quickly. Markstrom has at least another week off the ice and they really do need him back .

Carolina's 4th: no pick

Vatanen has joined the team on their current road trip which is a really good sign. He is moving closer to getting some games. Good news.

Buffalo's 5th: 5th round

Buffalos resurgence continues they are up into third in the Atlantic and are now a certainty to make the playo..... Nope still sh!t. It's a 5th rounder

I won’t be mad if Vancouver misses the playoffs this year, and the pick slides to the 2021 draft. IIRC, the pick is not lottery protected. With how the team is playing now, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see them miss the playoffs again next season. It could be a very good pick in 2021.

I guess you would miss the opportunity of having 3 first round picks in a single draft, which may make trading easier. But that could end up being the worse of two scenarios when all is said and done.

I just don't see them getting worse. They have had injuries at really unfortunate times this year. If they can sort out their bottom 6 they should be a contender.

Arizona's 1st rounder: 10th overall

The Coyotes didn't play last night, however most of the teams around them did, all of them winning, causing them to drop three places making this a 10th overall. They have Calgary tonight. Let's hope thats an L and no split points.

Tampcouver Boltnucks 1st rounder  : 15th +

They are clinging onto a WC spot right now due to the fact they have more wins than those surrounding them , they do still have games in hand but there are no guarantees. To make matters worse it looks like Quinn Hughes could miss the next two games. That being said this is still going to be a first rounder one of two years. So it's not the biggest deal in the world.

Carolina's 4th: no pick

From good news to bad news, Vatanen went to take part in practice, stepped on the ice and his leg fell off. They are still really struggling with injuries right now and are out of the WC spot with a game in hand. Wait and see on this one.

Buffalo's 5th: 5th round

Want to know how truly bad Buffalo is? If we win tonight we are level on points with them..... Yeah that bad.

Watching the Canucks collapse is fascinating - they built themselves a solid cushion so I still think they make it but wow:

They're in a true nosedive right now.

Arizona's 1st rounder: 10th overall

Arizona lost their one game over the weekend to the Flames and didn't pick up a loser point. Remarkably the devil's are now only 6 points back on Arizona in the overall league standings. They are two points back on the teams they are chasing having played a game more. Really hoping that if they do miss the playoffs the Hall Draft Luck doesn't carry over. They have a big game up next against the Jets who are one place above them and level on games.

Vancouver's  1st rounder (which took a short vacation in Tampa) : 15th +

Vancouver still occupy the last WC spot. It was a very mixed weekend for them. They beat the Avs 6-3 on Friday and then promptly lost to the BJ's 2-1 last night. They did have some luck in that Calgary lost to the Golden Knights. Vancouver still has two games in hand over the flames and if they can win both they can leapfrog the flames in the Pacific. Next game for them is the Islanders.

Carolina's 4th: no pick

Big win over the Penguins yesterday and the Canes are back in the WC spots. They have multiple games in hand over the other WC team Columbus and are only two points back. If they can get into the post season it gives Sammi a chance to actually make an appearance.

Buffalo's 5th: 5th round

We are above Buffalo.

Just to add if the season finished today and there was no movement in the draft order the Devil's would be selecting 7th, 10th and 17th in the first round of 2020. That's pretty huge.
