I also figured out where NBCSN got their pumped in crowd noise: it’s the crowd from Mike Tyson’s Punch-out on NES when it shows what round you’re starting.

One of the best games ever. I can still picture Little Mac in his pink sweats running behind Carl Winslow on his bike like it was yesterday. Lol

Crazy finish in Edmonton. Totally thought Chicago handed the game away with all the failed power plays.

Yeah this game got me.  I took the money line on the Oilers after 1 and a prop that both teams would score in the second.  Of course only the Oilers score in the second (TWICE!) then lose it in the 3rd.

Two days ago I had a parlay with the moneyline with the Isles and Leafs along with Indians and Braves - went 4 for 4 which was nice. Yesterday I had the moneyline for Avs, spread for Cubs and Twins, and.....moneyline for Oilers.  Stayed up to watch some of the game and was pissed when the Hawks went up 2-1 at the end of the 1st, but then saw the Oilers tie it in the 2nd and went to bed at 2-2, hopeful that they'd pull it out.  Was incredibly pissed to see they choked away a 3-2 lead, allowing 2 goals with under 5 minutes left.  Ruined potentially going 8/8 for me and lost me the parlay :(

On paper the Preds should be a better team. I'm not getting the value of Duchene, & Johanson. (imo way overated-both) Seth Jones is a way better D-Man than Johanson a fw.

I loved the tussles between OEL & Forsberg.

Looks like Hallsy starting to enjoy himself. Maybe he'll decide to sign, (w/ Yotes) and get us another pick.

I had a parlay the other day for Yotes and Blues, Yotes won, Blues lost with .1 seconds left lol

Those are heart breakers.  I feel for you guys.  Less so 1711 because you did go 4/4 and I feel like I've been scratching and clawing for every W.

I was thinking about starting a betting thread as to not bother the more responsible members on the board.  I feel like you're either in or out for that kind of thing.

What do you think @DevilMinder? Trying to keep the site sportsbook free?

As unofficial legal counsel, I would suggest it’s an incredibly bad idea to have a gambling section on an Internet forum.

It was mostly just to discuss legal NJ sportsbook wagers without clogging up the playoffs thread

I was going to mention this tidbit - I gamble quite a bit - sports, poker, horses (I actually own part of a thoroughbred), and when it comes to online poker several of the sites I used to play at almost two decades ago are back in business after having been shut down for years, but only for residents of NJ.  Now, of course we all don't live in NJ here, but the owner of the site does (I think?), so as unofficial devil's advocate I'd argue that makes us perfectly within our legal rights to discuss gambling on this forum.  After all, we're just talking about it, right?  Or did I already admit to placing a wager?   Oops.

Discussing it wouldn’t be an issue. I’m sure there are a slew of other issues, like licensing, taxation, verification of residence, etc. that would prevent actual gambling.

Back to the playoffs...good game between the Leafs and Blue Jackets.  I wish they both could lose, but still cool seeing what might be double OT here shortly.  Also, they're really lucky this was the last game in the Eastern Conference tonight.  What the hell are they going to do if there were two teams waiting to play after them?

Fantastic game. I picked up the Jackets when they were down 1-0 and I wish I had hit them again at 3-0. It doesn't seem as dumb of a bet when it's against the Leafs.

3 and a half legs.   The last half of the 4th left was too expensive.

Kidding.  But I couldn't afford an entire horse on my own (a good one, anyway), so I joined a stable that has several horses and most if not all of them are available to multiple people.  I actually don't know how many other people have a stake in my horse, but I personally only own a small percentage.  This was always somewhat of a dream of mine, and it's been my first foray into it, so I was going to see how it went and then make my decision whether or not I want to continue a year or two after I've been involved in it.

So funny story, one day when we were flying, i had this random song in my head and it bothered the hell out of me that i couldnt remember exactly where it came from, but I knew it was either an NES game or SNES. After about an hour or two of searching youtube on some of the slowest internet known to man (we're talking slower than good ole dial-up, showing my age here). I realized it was that exact song when they're running on the river shoreline with liberty behind them

After listening to Toronto fans and media scream for 3-4 years how Nylander, Matthews and Marner, along with their self proclaimed  “best management team ever”, was going to rip the NHL a new one, it never gets old watching them fail.  Hopefully Columbus can close them out.

When they traded Jones though, they had that massive log-jam of defenders. I wish we had half the luck the Preds have in drafting/developing defense.

Hynes though is pulling a Hynes and subscribing to the Mike Babcock school of "how to outcoach yourself with talent." Foresberg, for example, saw his game drop off the face of the earth once DBA got there cause he stopped getting the minutes and situations he was used to. 7 goals since Hynes took over as coach on 7 January (approx 28 games if i counted correctly) versus 14 over the first 35. Nashville as a whole also became a very boring team to watch. Admittedly, I have seen one game of this series but the few I watched before the season paused, they went from a quick team to that passive crap the DBA forced our team to become recently.

Clearly I am not a fan of Hynes by any stretch of the word, and I'll absolutely admit my disdain for him probably clouds the living hell out of my perception of things, but the dude has no business being an NHL head coach considering he has zero clue how to manage talent when he has it in his arsenal.

Oh man, if they get bounced in the play-in round, its going to be fun as hell watching them play Cap gymnastics considering going into the offseason, they'll have only 16 players under contract and only ~$5mil in cap space.
