NJDfan1711
I like the hire. Always liked Recchi as a player, though hated who he played for of course. He had a great career so I can only imagine he'll bring good things to the team.
HellOnICE
I must say - I am all about having Staff who've had great success in this league and sport other than AHL-College-Development coaches.

Yeah, having a HoFer behind the bench can only be a good thing I would think.

Not only a HOF’er, a 3-time Cup winner as a player, plus two more as an assistant in Pittsburgh. Dude knows what a winning environment looks like.

I would hope he has an open invitation whenever he’s ready. Even his brief interactions with guys like Gusev, Bratt, Zacha, etc seem to help a lot.

And, a Hall if Famer from outside the organization, so there’s no “what if we have to fire him” concern. Honestly I’m pretty excited the more I think about it. Successful as both a player and as a coach, that is a pretty good background.
SterioDesign
So even with Shero gone we're still getting people who worked within the Pens organization.. i see.

As long as they’re not bargain bin players/coaches. Recchi is a respected name.
mfitz804
I knew Recchi was in the league a long time, but his first game was 1988-89 and he ended in 2010-11. That's a lot of hockey.
