My man, I triple-doggy-dare you to use the search function. For years I was screaming into the wind with @NJDevils1214 to give Zacha time, while every single one of my favorite members here told me I was stupid. Finally Zacha shows up in a big way and most of you dolts act like you've been his biggest supporter since he was drafted. It took me five minutes to find you talking out of both sides of your mouth; saying "all he does is suck" and immediately following that up with "I have been telling you guys give him time he'll be great!!". Can I guess your political affiliation? this is a joke plz do not suspend ty

I'm not "bashing" these prospects, I'm telling you guys that you're overvaluing them in relation to one of the best wingers in the NHL. Use your context clues, my man, you'll get there.

Yes, Nolan Foote and Brandt Clarke is a significantly more attractive trade package than a 24-year old soon-to-be RFA who's never had more than 35 points in a year. Just because I love Pavel Zacha doesn't mean I can't recognize him for what he is, and currently he is a player with significantly more value to the Devils than value he'd bring in return in a trade package.

I can use your logic, too: Just because I love Pavel Zacha doesn’t mean I couldn’t recognize that two years ago all he did was suck. That’s all he did. Didn’t mean I wanted him dealt or gave up on his development.

I heard OEL might be available from the Coyotes. 6 seasons left at $8.25m. He’s 29 years old.

Gut feeling is he’s too old to be that expensive for that long. He’s also got the NMC which probably nullifies the whole thing, in addition to the Coyotes probably asking a ton for him.

Oel is on decline. This is one of the most bad contracts of the league. We must to stop to try to trade/sign every big name an try to understand what will work and what the devils need.
what’s about Karlsson trade? Two years ago he was 80+ points defenseman. Two Norris trophies. He is a star player. May be we will trade Foote, Clarke and our couple of first picks for him?

can’t imagine how excited sharks fans will be.

Isn't Karlsson made of glass?

Yes, which is why Guadana was being sarcastic.

Dougie Hamilton / Seth Jones or bust

You’re going to be supremely disappointed then.

Gonna be in disney world during the draft. Pour one out for me boys.

Should be a lot of wheeling and dealing. Food poisoning occurred Friday 7/23 at 7pm. You will have to get back to the hotel to rest up for the remainder of the weekend.

Is this because NBC lost to ESPN?

This makes no sense for him:

Far from his home, likely less money than NBC, not even the GM to control personnel and you have to work daily with a batsh!t crazy owner. Couldn't he have joined the Rangers or something?

Confused.

I feel bad for Sens fans.

This is almost as bad as the Mets hiring Brodie Van Wagenen so Jeffy "I think I'm a baseball man" Wilpon could meddle to his heart's content...

...almost...

Hockey Writers saying we may go after Henrique and Labanc.

How can you call yourself a hockey writer when you know nothing about hockey?

I am quite vocal about how New Jersey isn’t what people want when they want to play in New York, but Labanc is from Staten Island, and there is no hockey team closer to Staten Island than the New Jersey Devils.

Same analysis as everyone else, what is it going to take to get him?

As much as I liked Henrique and was sorry to see him go, ha’s now an almost $6m 3rd liner with 3 more years on his contract on the wrong side of 30. I don’t really think he fits in with what we’re doing over here.

If ducks will retain some part of his salary and we trade him for Johnsson i could be ok with it.

How much of every meeting will involve him referencing Crosby for no reason?

Exactly, he's like Michael Kay with Jeter.

I cannot imagine any team agreeing to retain salary when we have so much cap space, but if that is the deal, yes, I am in.

I wonder if it’s worth it for the Devils to advertise/market to Staten Island. Obviously Rangers country but you can still attract some people to a close arena in Newark for NHL games. I think you’ve said you are in SI. Have you ever seen the Devils advertise or promote there?

The answer is, they do not do that at all.

If my friend across the street's mom didn't work for a company that had Devils season tickets, I probably would never have been a hockey fan nor played hockey. Back then, there was very little exposure to hockey in Staten Island. That has improved a lot. When I was in high school, the options were play for the H.S. club, which my parents wouldn't let me because of the time/money commitment. They used to practice in NJ or Brooklyn (we didn't have a suitable local rink) at 6AM before school, my parents were having none of that. The other option was a roller hockey league, which I did play in for a season before aging out (the 16-18 year old division didnt get enough players and it folded). Other than that it was all street hockey and open ice hockey, which I would never have known about or gone to without the other exposure.

But its still Rangers country, with a few carryover Islanders fans from their 80's success and of course some bandwagon jumpers now.

There are many more Devils fans now than there were pre-Stanley Cup, I can tell you that. I can count the number of Devils fans I knew in high school on one hand, and two of them are me and my buddy with the season ticket hookup.

For what its worth, all of the Rangers fans on Staten Island know how easy it is to get to Newark and they account for a large portion of the guys in blue at Devils games. I have known Rangers fans who have specifically said they only go to games in Newark, because getting to MSG from Staten Island is too time consuming and annoying.
