Dunno, they were all over the map this year - Nedeljkovic played 23 games, Reimer 22, and Mrazek 12.

I don’t think you can call the guy who played the most games the third string goalie, can you??

Bobrovsky was 19-8, Dreiger 14-6.  Granted he had a bit better save percentage, but it was in less games, and you don't know if they gave him the soft/easy starts.  I guess you could be right and maybe they gave Bob Game 1 out of respect, but I thought he played pretty well, so yanking him and giving a rookie Game 2 seems sort of like a punishment.  It's very similar to the situation with Carolina.... coming into this season, Dreiger had all of 15 career starts in a four year span.

Not necessarily the save % which was .927 to .906 Dreiger also gave up .84 less goals per game.  2.07 to 2.91.  Pretty significant difference.  I would hope Quenneville knows what's best here but it's always easiest to second guess especially when they're down 1-0 in the series and 2-0 tonight so far.

...by 1? lol

Jake Allen played 29 games for the Canadiens this season - would you call him their starter?  I would say Carey Price is their starter. He played 25.

I mean I guess Price was supposed to be their starter, but he was hurt/sucked a bag of d!cks, so did he lose his starting job? He may have.

I just checked and I can't believe they still haven't played Game 1 of their series yet, but last I heard supposedly he was going to have his job back.  Who knows though.

Also, am I the only one who thinks these announcers in the Bolts/Panthers game on the Bally Sports feed are novice amateurs?  They are getting so excited at the smallest/stupidest things.  They remind me of casual hockey fans who have barely seen any games and they stand up or "ooh and ahh" every time one team picks up a loose puck and heads into the offensive zone.  Pretty annoying.

Allen mostly outplayed Price all season. Their save % is way closer now. But at some point during the season Allen was like .930 while price was like .890 or something. I didnt pay much attention lately but read somewhere (that somewhere was likely canadian media so i'll take this with a grain of salt) that Price played a lot better in his last month. And Allen's play must have dropped at some point cause early in the season he was doing reallly good.

Their problem is that they basically have 15m of their cap on goalies. That's not a great setup. They've had to do cap gymnastics all season to get players in the lineup from the taxi squad and all, no flexibility at all. Plus any game you either have 10.5m or 4.5 sitting on your bench not contributing. Not ideal

What's the most likely thing to happen next season for Zach Parise? Would a team trade for him? Hard to picture how the Wild could sweeten the pot enough to make that happen.

Nico for Parise, the trade is one for one?

lol.

He shouldn’t have dressed down his goalie in that manner, but what an awful play. And in overtime? Bad error by an inexperienced goalie, chalk it up to that.

He actually only has $10 million in "real" money coming to him over the next four seasons:  $6 million in 2021-22, $2 million in 2022-23, then $1 million in each of the final two seasons.  That does help the Wild's cause a teeny bit, in that the team that takes him on isn't paying him anywhere near the cap hit.

That being said, the team that would actually consider this would be doing the Wild a hell of a favor...if the Wild bought him out now, the 2022-23 through 2024-25 hits are still brutal...they're not going to save a whole lot...and unfortunately it doesn't really matter when you buy him out, over the next few seasons...I checked the buyout hits after each season, and none offer that much cap relief (Zach Parise Contract Buyout Details - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps).  I'd need at least a first-rounder and second-rounder, just to start the conversation...and that's just to pick up the phone.  I'd be taking on a seriously diminished player for at least three seasons.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how the Wild sweeten the pot.

You don’t do that in front of the world. That’s what the locker room is for.

Kuznetsov and Samsonov were scratched near the end of the season for disciplinary reasons and were put on COVID protocol (not that they had it, probably a violation).  I heard there could be some internal rifts so I wonder if that was the captain calling out the rookie for fvcking around and costing the game in double overtime.
