anyone else watching this season of The White Lotus? my wife and I are glued to the TV sunday nights now. Acting is fvcking fantastic, writing is great, perfect mixture of laugh-out-loud funny and super dramatic. Jennifer Coolidge is sensational.

Yes. I dig this show. Idk that there’s really been a standout performance like Murray Bartlett from season one (Armond), but Aubrey Plaza and Michael Imperioli have both been good. And yeah, Jennifer Coolidge is hilarious in this.

The show also looks totally gorgeous. It’s basically view porn. I was glad to see it’s been renewed for a third season.

How does it compare to the first season in your opinion?

I didn't know if i should give it a shot to the new season. Mostly watched the first season purely because Alexandra Daddario and Sydney Sweeney were in it.

Maybe i'll give it a go

It’s 5 times better than Season 1, which I already loved.

There certainly isn’t Sydney Sweeney, but Aubrey Plaza is a baddie and the storyline is so much more engaging.

It’s unbelievable.

So annoyed, it would have been hysterical if he went to the Giants.

You do wonder when GMs will realize that signing up for a player's Age 31-39 seasons at top dollar is a really really bad idea.  Albert Pujols anyone?

I don't kid myself...the Mets already got silly with Lindor and will probably do the same thing with Alonso (won't be as much money, but sure as hell won't be cheap), but hopefully if they do, they'll do it earlier and have a better chance to get a lot of prime years and some light decline years.  Judge is getting his so late in the game that if the Yankees get four proper Judge years, they should be thrilled.

It's such a weird report, because it's totally believable that the MLB tweaked their baseballs for the 90th time but you can't really point to a statistic showing that it had an impact. Judge's best month in terms of average exit velocity (where you'd really see a difference in the baseball -- the ball's exit velo as a fraction of swing speed) was July.

Weirdly, the report claims that they used these extra juiced balls for the whole game (both teams), but the Yankees collective OPS, OPS+, wOBA, and exit velocity as a team was DRAMATICALLY worse in august and september than the rest of the season. Like, "is this even the same team?" worse. If you look at the Yankees batting stats on the year, it's almost exactly an inverse of this chart.

Someone who knows more about this whole thing already came out and said that 3 baseballs over the course of an entire month of baseball falls under statistical noise, since the changes to the ball are minute and not obvious. I tend to believe that. It's also being speculated that the microchip the MLB was putting on baseballs for commemorative games / big moments (to be able to verify them later) could've altered their weight. But it would be the least surprising thing in the entire world to find out that the MLB was tinkering with their baseball for the 94082348309th time.

fvck Qatar

I've read Grant's stuff for so long. This is just a really sad situation all around. I feel bad for his wife and his family that there's gonna be mystery and questions surrounding his death no matter what they discover.

Not saying that foul play couldn't be involved but Grant himself had talked on his podcast the day before about how he was run and down and not feeling so well and wrote about it on Monday that he was having upper chest pain so it's also very possible that he was just unfortunately sicker than expected and had maybe something else going on he didn't know about.

Just hope his wife and family and friends can find some peace with what they are going through

PSA for anyone running a distance race: please, for the love of fvcking god, look behind you when going to water stations if you’re planning on grabbing your cup and COMING TO A DEAD FREAKING STOP!

2x Dickheads did it to my during my race today at mile 22, cause me to stop so damn short my right hamstring tightened up more than (insert inappropriate joke here) which then caused me to run unevenly for the remaining 4.2 miles, which caused the other hamstring to go at mile 24 which caused me to almost have to tap out and crawl to the finish line for the final 0.2 miles.

Look behind you, then decide to stop, especially if the guy you’re next to is cruising.

thank you for reading my Ted talk

So we're decorating the tree tonight and I have A Christmas Story on in the background, I go into our basement closet that has all my mother's old ceramic decorations, I'm digging around looking for stuff. And then out of the corner of my eye, tucked into the back of the room up on a shelf, I see a rifle.

Turns out, this particular rifle was my late father's Red Ryder carbine-action, 200 shot, range model air rifle.

I don't believe in "ghosts" or spirits per se, but my dad was definitely here with us tonight lol.
