I with you 100% on this. I've worn glasses since I was a kid, always wanted contacts but getting them in and out is a complete trauma for me. I just gave up - and I'm not a squeamish person by nature. But that? Hell no. 😆

Whenever I see someone struggling with a contact that's gone rogue or they start complaining about how dry their eyes are from wearing them...instant skeeves for me.  Also I remember my 8th-grade science teacher talking about how wearing contacts in a chemical environment can cause them to "weld" themselves to your eyes (there's a lot more detail than this but I can't recall all of it).  So yeah, glasses for me!

Been wearing contacts for 30 years. I wear my contacts during the day and my glasses at night. I can pop ‘em in and out without even needing a mirror 🤣

That's cool. You can even see the piles of trash people leave up there in her picture.

Half kidding, I can't tell what it is.

There’s dead bodies up there that people actually use as markers as they make their way up.

And of course, also LOTS of human fecal matter…eww.

Yea the dead bodies have names too....I mean aside of their real names. I got really into learning about it for some reason in an insomnia night and found out a lot about the trash, dead, etc people leave there.

Not that it is not still a feat, but it has become a thrilling experience the rich can "buy". Many people do it every year now.

Check out the movie “Everest” sometime.  Based on a very true (and rather tragic) story.

Is that green boots?

Of course now that I look it up I can't find any stories that line up with my description but AFAIK, Green Boots is farther down from the summit outside of a small alcove on the side of the mountain, and they still haven't positively ID'd the body

Have you ever seen "Touching the Void"?

Has to be one of the greatest feets of human determination and perseverance ever.

i drove up to the top of mt evans years ago. i think it was 14k. almost passed out after walking 100 yards around the top.

hiking Everest. lol that's just legit crazy, hence why there's not many that do it. sucks the floaters get stuck there, but there's nothing they can do.

Actually when you think about it, winning the Stanley Cup is more rare than climbing mount everest. About 800 people reach the summit every year, only 1 team wins the Cup every year

Same here.  Looks like The Hills Have Eyes out there.  Waiting for mutants to start attacking the building any second.

Yesterday I wondered where the sun went. Closed all windows and turned on a/c. Thermostat is at 69 so it comes on. Tdy in Flemington smoked filled skies but there is still a sun. Saw it with an angry red ring around it. To add to this there is a wildfire in Jackson. Still have smoke issues in Bass River area. Time to get out the KN95 masks...again.
