Yeah no that's not a thing at all lol

It has to be clear that the head was targeted. Many times the head/face took a hit but it was deemed that it was not the primary point of contact / targeted and no suspension. Many time the shoulder get the chest first and eventually get the face, usually that's not a suspension.

And that's primary why fans of the player taking the hit are losing their sh!t cause all they see is "IT WAS A HIT TO THE HEAD!!!!" and then they are convince the league is against them when there's no suspension. Truth is, they just don't get the rules

Well the rules are ridiculous if shouldering an opponent’s head, away from the puck, is not suspension worthy. Either way you slice it, the league’s Dept of Safety is a joke.

That is accurate.

Good, scumbag.

Took them long enough. Official motion to change his name to Doucher as part of his punishment is renewed.

well sure if you frame it "shouldering an opponent's head" it sounds bad. But that was more an accidental contact with the head on a hockey play.

The contact wasn't accidental. And he stepped into it also. The contact was deliberate, do I think the head was targeted, probably not.

I guess this is a good example of a reckless or careless play not being deemed suspension worthy.

Well to me it's interference with accidental contact to the head in the process. Which is precisely what was called i believe and why there's no suspension

I’ve watched it like 30 times now. I feel like MacKinnon held him back with his hand and then tried to step in front of him and cut him off. In the process of doing that, the shoulder made contact to the head.

I think the hold back was one of those lame interference calls, and the step in front was REALLY interference. But neither was deliberate contact to Patrick’s rotted jack o lantern head.

Yeah you describe it pretty much like i see it or tried to explain it. Which comes to being an interference call / penalty (which he got).

IF Mackinnon stepped in front of him and then stopped to push BACK towards him. Then MAYBE i'd say its intentional. Kind of like these examples provided by Pacioretty.

OR if he cut in front of him really skating into a player targeting the head like Pacioretty did on Kris Letang here. Then i'd say thats a suspension

But what i see is just an interference where Nolan ran his head into a shoulder that was passing by.

Conclusion: No suspension for Nate, Max is a piece of sh!t and Nolan is fragile

Well its definitely not that. MacKinnon meant to apply the body to interfere with Patrick. Patrick didn't just randomly skate his head into a passing shoulder. What I don't believe he intended was head contact. But he intended contact.

yeah well obviously since he grabbed him. But still not worthy of a suspension

Was more than just the hand, but probably not suspension worthy. Just unfortunate who his “victim” was, he could miss significant time and/or be risking his career every time something like this happens.

Tyce Thompson's bro is quietly lighting the lamp this year. Tage has 16G 18A for 34 pts in 45 games on a pooptastic Buffalo team. He just net a hatty against COL.

Tyce is looking like he’s going to be a solid player. Hope his little bro is as talented.

Was there even a phone call? MacKinnon should've been ejected for that. But because he is a superstar with a good reputation, nothing. It's disappointing that the Department of Player Safety never changes.

So the Islanders are still not great and lost to MTL lol

I know they started on a long road trip because of the arena. But they still went 5-6-2 which is not the end of the world. They also dealt with injuries and Covid... like most teams did.

Truth is their recent moves are not panning out and already bitting them in the ass. Like i suspected it would.

Traded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Pageau and re-signed him to a long term deal... he has 15 pts this season and fans already hate the contract

Traded for an over the hill Palmieri and he's still terrible and extended 4 years lolol Zajac is not even there anymore. Remember that cost them a first round pick

Signed an over the chill Chara who plays way too much and he's really not playing well according to their fans.

Parise seem to be doing okay considering he's cheap and wasn't expected to do much.

According to this article i guess their PP was terrible early too

Overall, this all sound awfully familiar

No, but who gives a sh!t? Your obsession with our former GM (who’s been gone for 7 years) is super weird.

We're in an around the league thread. They are in our division and were in conference final last year. So that they are struggling is relevant. If you wouldn't be triggered by it it would be a perfectly fine conversation

Then why aren’t you doing the same thing about Philly?
