And FIVE years?! 🤣🤣

Oh it's dumb all-around, in this timeline.  Like I said, that's how you get yourself into a seemingly endless cycle of irrelevance.

If I'm Cam Atkinson, I'm thinking of telling the Flyers that I'd like to be moved this offsesaon.  Guy is 32 and still a solid player, on a rotten team, and has three years left on his deal.  Gotta think he wouldn't spending his Age 33, 34, and 35 season on a team with a chance to win.

JVR Part Deux worked out really well for them, didn't he?  (he did not)

Sean Avery is such a piece of sh!t lol Why in hell would he take the time to film a player and insult him like this? Keller has 16pts in 7 games since that video lol

A guy that collects purses making fun of a player for ear guards?

I love it, those fans sh!t all over him for wanting the surgery he got with Vegas and they sided with the Pegulas who might be good people but know Jack about hockey. Good for him for flipping their collective brain dead bandwagon asses the bird.

And they booed him pretty loudly on the return video, I'm honestly surprise they even made one for him, not like they won anything and they forced him out of the organization...

Fans are stupid. I remember people booing Brian Gionta when he played his first game after he left NJ... Dispite that he left on good terms. Pretty sure, iirc, he was just owed a big payday and Lou just wasn't going to give it to him because he was Lou.

EDIT: Maybe I am thinking of Brian Rafalski after he went to DET before he retired because he grew up in Michigan and was a fan as a kid. Maybe both.

I am pretty sure I was at that Gionta game and that happened. I get being pissed of a guy chooses to leave, we as fans don’t usually think rationally in that situation. But aI don’t boo a guy for that.

I didn’t even boo Parise, who I personally think did us dirty by signing a one year deal after his knee injury just to increase the value of his next deal, which he had no intention of signing in NJ.

I don’t know why anyone would be mad at Gio. He had his best years here and we all knew he was gonna cash in (and not be worth the contract eventually). Very similar to Rafalski.

Water under the bridge now, but I think that was more for both sides to avoid arbitration...didn't it turn out that Lou never even made him a real long-term offer?

New Jersey Devils, Zach Parise avoid arbitration with 1-year deal (espn.com)

That damned knee injury buggered everything up...and of course, all of the other crap going on at that time.  At least the Devils got his best years (though to be fair, the first 8 years of Zach's time in Minny were mostly about what you would've expected, save for the fact that he started to miss more games).

Palms suddenly showing signs of life out of nowhere…two goals tonight, 8 G and 4 A over his last 12 GP.  Hard to say if he’s really “back”…he’s not getting tons of ice time (14 mins per game) and isn’t getting tons of SOG either (14 total in his last 9 GP coming into tonight).  Islander fans must be happy to be getting something out of him at this point.

Palms doing Palms things. Enjoy no scoring for the next 15, coming real soon…

The level of his streakiness was often exaggerated, but yeah, he’s always been streaky.

I was mentioning it mostly because based on the way he’s looked since the start of last season, I wasn’t sure if he had a streak like this in him anymore.  And based on not really getting a lot of SOG, this feels like it could be more of a fluke, than Palms suddenly again being that guy who could score goals in bunches from time to time.  It won’t surprise me if this burst ends abruptly.
