If he signs here he has a shot at being the starter right off the bat, so that might intrigue him. Of course he also has a shot at playing for Ruff, Nas, and Recchi which would do the opposite of intrigue him.

So with Tampa losing to Boston tonight, the Bolts dropped into a wild card spot. If the playoffs started today, the East matchups would be: FLA-WSH; TOR-BOS; TB-CAR; NYR-PIT. If those matchups hold, you are guaranteed to have four very good teams going home in the first round.

pretty remarkable how tough the East is this year at least through the top eight, with almost all of them having over 100 points at the end of the regular season.

Yep. It doesn't matter where you wind up. Although I would say the Panthers should have the edge over the Caps. I don't know if I want the Rangers to win the division. Seems like they match up well against the Pens. But anything can happen in a series. Whoever they draw, it'll be tough.

I feel similarly about the Central Division. Both the Predators and Wild are capable of runs. The Blues, it depends on Husso.

They’re playing the Rags in the first round, so the shorter the suspension the better.

After seeing Hall get 0 games for punching a guy in the back of the head nothing will surprise me at this point.

And just one day after that Crosby sucker punch. The league loves them some Penguins.
