So has anyone heard any comparison between Hughes and Power?

Same team, i assume Power is getting top line minutes and bigger assignments. But he's almost a year older too so i'd like to hear how people who are watching them would compare them

I really only follow highlights, and read up on them, but I did see that Power made First Team - All Big Ten, and Luke “only” made Second Team, but considering Luke is a freshman, and Power a Sophomore it’s not really that surprising. From the sheer amount of clips I’ve seen it seems Power is probably the better all around defenseman, but Luke provides WAY more offense.

Interesting that Hughes is nominated for the Hobey Baker but not Power tho

Michigan beat Minnesota to win the Big 10 championship. 1 assist for Luke. Final score was 4-3, but it was never really that close. It was 4-1 until Minnesota got a couple extra attacker goals at the end. Michigan really dominated play most of the game.

They play in the regionals next weekend, with a chance to go to the Frozen Four.

Hughes had 1 point, an assist on Michigan's first goal by Brisson at 1:17 in the 1st period

What Luke has done as a Freshman has been spectacular. You also have to factor in Power missed a big chunk of games for the Olympics.

I think you are happy if you have either Like or Power in your prospect pool at this point.

Will do a Russian prospect update later on. Gritsyuk scored two today in Avangards 7-5 win over Metallurg.

He scored a bar down empty netter from his own end. Possibly the best empty net goal I have ever seen, just in how aggressive a shot it was for the situation.

His first of the game was a breakaway he created using his speed.

I want to see him in New Jersey ASAP. He regularly tops out as the fastest skater in most of the games he plays.

Just saw this on twitter.

Do we agree with this breakdown?

Definitely not lol

Hughes being elite makes sense, Holtz arguably. I definitely would not put Walsh or Mukhamadullin ahead of the NHL regulars category at this point, Walsh seems like a long shot to even make the NHL. And certainly Edwards and Salminen have no business being in the NHL regulars group. Clarke and Foote have been around for a while, and still seem pretty far away from a full time NHL gig. But, sure, everyone else certainly is everyone else.

Well i don't disagree but i think it's based on potential / ceiling rather than what they are at the moment

Michigan beat AIC 5-3, and advanced in the tournament. On to the regional finals, with a chance to go to the Frozen Four. One assist for Luke Hughes, and a goal for Ethan Edwards. I watched the whole game and Luke was fantastic. Had an awesome spin-o-rama move to set up a great chance, and hit the post on another play. Kid is just as electric as his brothers. Thought he played a sound game defensively, too.
