LMFAO HOW SOFT. Daddy to the rescue

This made me laugh.

I think that that stupid retraction tweet they made during the game was probably on the back of contact from the AHL.

And the attention Caufield got when he was in the NHL was ridiculously over the top.

The Comets move to 8-0-0. Crazy stuff.

They beat the Syracuse Crunch 3-1. 2 Goals from A.J Greer and one from Fabian Zetterlund secure the win.

Zetterlunds goal off of some really nice work along the boards from Studenic.

This team is going to have a hell of a lot of fun against AHL opponents…that’s for sure.

Take your mind off the Bruins loss with the fact that Utica is now 9-0.

Studenic with his first for the Comets. Gambardella with two. Foote with his first Apple and Clarke getting a goal as well.

Also I whoever does the social media for the Comets currently gives 0 fvcks about anyone. They have spent the  game tweeting and then adding fake compliments to the end of every tweet to be extra nice since Caufield is playing again.

Caufield had a goal and an assist. He can expect a pat on the head and some cookies and milk from his mum and dad on the way home. If he can stay up for the car journey home that is.

Home of the Staten Island Yankees and ferry. Is that still free? Haven’t been there for 18 years.

Former home of the Staten Island Yankees, they have ceased operations.

The ferry is still free, thousands of commuters used to use it daily when going to work in Manhattan was a thing.

It's funny...on one hand, you always want to see winning within your organization...and it doesn't get better than winning every single one of your games.

On the other, guess I wish there were more real up-and-comers to get excited about.  The points leader is 26 and with his third franchise since being drafted, and has all of five NHL games to his name to date.  Some of the others are names we've heard but don't really seem poised to make much of an NHL impact (Zetterland, Boqvist, Foote, etc).

It feels mostly like a bunch of AAAA-types who will get call-ups when other guys go down, but don't do much with those opportunities and then promptly get sent back down and once again start putting up numbers.  Really hoping the kids on D (Okhotyuk and Bahl) and at least one of the goalies can become solid NHLers in time.  For now, it appears that the most legit F prospect in Holtz has already graduated, though we'll see if he sticks with the big club.

I think Tyce Thompson has a future as an effective third liner in the NHL.

Was bound to happen at some point but Utica drops their first game of the season.

Yeah, no, its 10 and 0.

Utica wins 4-1. Walsh, Zetterlund, Greer and Schmelzer with the goals. Schmid unlucky not to get the shutout.

Kudos to Utica for continuing to win despite losing some players to call-ups (Holtz, Boqvist, Thompson).

De Leo hasn’t played the last three games…guess he’s injured?

Given De Leo has been one of, if not the best player on the team, it makes it even more impressive.

Are they approaching best AHL start ever territory at all? I wonder what the record is. I know that league goes all the way back to the 1930’s, so I kind of doubt it, but it’s definitely impressive.

I believe they just tied the record.

They have lost important players to the big team and they are still getting the job done. Well done boys.

Of course it’s early but Dineen might find his way back to the NHL if he keeps this up…then again, he’s always been a successful minor-league coach…maybe that’s simply his forte.

If things go sour with Ruff you would think they will be looking at Utica exploring that option. If there is familiarity with the prospects and those younger players it could work.

Doesn't seem like that's close though.

Two things that make this achievement impressive:  that they keep doing this despite losing players to call-ups (and De Leo, who’s been productive for them, having missed five games), and the team really not being all that great, in terms of higher-end future NHLers and overall talent.  This isn’t the 2004-05 Manchester Monarchs.

And their goal differential isn’t insanely high for an undefeated team…seems like they’re truly doing this as a TEAM, getting contributions from everyone.  Of course they’re also getting incredible goaltending most nights.
