I’ve never heard that Oilers jersey referred to like that. I actually kind of liked it, but I’m biased as I’m a big Todd McFarlane fan, and he designed it himself. Kind of minor league-ish, but I personally wouldn’t lump it in with some of those other ones.

I like the Riveters jersey. Not sure about "rivs" as a name on it but I like the concept.

This is why, for many years on this forum and other forms of social media, why I have wished that we would never get a black alternate.  Not only do most black alternates either miss or barely fly in their designs, but you just absolutely knew that simply slapping on a Devils logo onto a black version of our retro design would be way too easy for the Devils.

Instead, the corporate dweebs in Weber and Reynolds along with Harris decided that every Devils fan is hyper-obsessive about the state and that we are all Bon-Jovi listening guidos.  Hell, this is the same ownership that tried to ram down a Bon Jovi song as a goal song a few years ago because these guys, in their infinite wisdom, think we are all the same.

We 100% deserve this.  We still have fans going to games even when they spend as little as possible on the on-ice product, trade players for "future considerations" when we are not even up against the cap, and treat the fans like complete yokels and idiots.

The “Rivs” jersey is also 1000% better thank ours, even with the stupid script logo. If they gave us theirs with “Devils” in script (shortening a short word would be dumb, IMHO), they would sell a billion of them.

So I think he is referencing the Devil's in that original tweet. 

It's clutching at straws , but it would be fun if this leaked version was a hoax. Some people got the jerseys delivered after they were ordered but the rest got cancelled. How often does that happen in a situation like this? 

Knowing our luck, it really is just a processing fvck up by Adidas and those are our jerseys.

I am hoping for that really outside chance that the Devils have taken notice of the extreme and near-universal negative reaction to these jerseys for them to stop these dead in their tracks, go back to the drawing board, and either reveal a better one later this season or next season.

Agree with the first two points; there's definitely corporate dweebuses within the Devils organization who think all people Jersey are the same.  We've been over it, but all they really had to do was check out various fan-made black-concept jerseys to use as a starting point...and make sure that the logo was a part of it.  That would've almost guaranteed anything from mediocre to pretty good...and something most of us would've been fine with, compared to what we've got.  

Still think you're off-base on the bolded...like I've said many times, there were no high-profile (expensive) free agents who really wanted to sign here anyway, and I'm not so sure that given the lack of a solid core that was (and is) still developing, that being capped out (or near it) would've been a great way to go anyway.  They just ponied up some big cash for Hamilton, who clearly filled an obvious need...had the Devils not even pursued him, then yeah, I'd start to wonder just how big of a financial commitment ownership was willing to make to the on-ice product.  But I don't think spending less had anything to do with purposely cheaping out.  We'll see what happens as these younger players burn up their ELC and bridge deals.  Also keep in mind that Fitz is thought of highly enough in the NHL that it seemed like he was going to his shot to be a GM soon...I'd gotta think if he really felt that ownership wasn't willing to spend, that he'd resign and find a better opportunity (even if meant having to wait a little).

I wish this was the case, I really do, but I find that corporate dweebuses don't often like to admit that they might have made a mistake, misread the tea leaves, etc...so I expect more of a double-down.  But now it's on the fans not to buy them...I'm sure some will, but based on the general reaction, it can't be very many.

Devils traded Butcher and a 5th rounder for "future considerations" when we are not even against the cap.  Maybe it is for roster space, but we have no idea because for whatever reason the entire trade was barely even reported by the team or our lone non-team employed beat writer.

Hamilton's salary becomes a non-issue when Subban's salary comes off the books.  I see that as swapping one out for the other.  Regardless, I still think they are operating on an internal cap for the on-ice product.

Also, don't let me get into it about the off-ice areas which they are still cheaping out on (roof that is still leaking almost a decade later, damaged fixtures in the bathrooms, worst arena-food in the entire tri-State area, etc).

That's one of things, even towards the bitter end, that I agreed with Lou on.  If Lou was here that would have never gotten past being some doodle in a designers notebook.  Just based on other black alts in the league the chances of failure were already high, and with the current ownership/management in that chance was nearly guaranteed.
