Who do you put in Expanded Ring of Honor?

Would be interesting to see if the Devils will also wear a patch for the entire season as well for next year being 40 years in NJ.  The last time they wore a patch for an entire season was 06-07 IIRC for their 25th anniversary.

I also wonder if they are going to do a special celebration for the 2003 Cup team like they did for the 95 and 2000 teams for their 20th anniversary.

Have to imagine they do the Cup celebration for sure. As far as the patch goes, they didn't do 30, I can't see why they do 40, but its possible.

Team looks like they are expanding with these kinds of things.  This year the Devils are auctioning off like 8-9 specialty warmups when in the past they only did 2.

They did 25 and 35 as I'm looking at my jersey fouled patches jersey.😎  Maybe they didn't do 30 because maybe they assumed people would think of somehow Brodeur related.(or probably cheaped out on making a patch😃)

I'd go one further...I'd say Lou has to be second and Lemaire has to be third.  Then you can start with the players...I'm not really super-particular on order, but here's what I'd do (and Chico and Doc can have their days whenever in there...not trying to lessen their moments in any way, just not sure where I'd slot them):

Brylin (yeah, was a bit of "right place right time", but he's the one guy who was here for all three Cups, and fans love him)

Correct, I was at that game. My daughter insisted on holding her own patch, I offered to hold it so it didn’t get lost. She refused. 

She did not lose hers, but I lost mine taking out my wallet at some point. She has not let me forget that lol.

I heard no mention of Zajac going into the ring, only that they were celebrating his 1,000th game. 

I don’t have an issue with Lou or Lemaire, but inducting old people is a little boring. Get a player in there. Maybe like I said, do a couple people. 

And surprisingly, the order that guys go in is not important to me. Usually I am pretty OCD but this isn’t triggering it for some reason.

Yeah my list was more of a suggestion...the good thing is everyone on that list is very popular with Devils fans (though the age groups may obviously vary...I remember MacLean, Driver, Terreri and others very well, but can't expect people 15-20 years younger than me to have strong feelings re:  those players).  You can't really go wrong with how you order them.

Johnny Mac was mentioned but I think he should be way up the list if you are doing an order. The goal to get into the playoffs, long time scoring leader, etc.

I’ve seen them on jerseys, but they weren’t worn by the team. Still a cool patch. I do have the replacement one I bought on eBay somewhere lol.

One time I left my cell phone in a local mom & pop fro-yo store (I had taken my daughter there)...I was about halfway home when I realized it, so I went back and got it.  My daughter then gave me a "pointer" (consists of just pointing at someone with a look of anger...this is what I do to her when she does something wrong...for some reason, it's always been effective) and said "You forgot your phone Daddy!"

No lost points for the Rangers...no one gets docked for that here, AFAIC.

You can definitely slot Mac ahead of Brylin and Lemieux...no arguments here.  Mac's still my all-time favorite Devil.

Like how the only time my daughter’s phone screen got cracked, which we constantly thought she was going to do, was when my wife tried to toss it onto the table and missed. She gets that one brought up periodically lol.

It's hard to compare Terreri to Schneider's numbers because Terreri played a majority of his career as a starter in the waning years of the live puck era.  Having a .890 save% is enough to get you sent down these days, but back then that was normal and goalies were winning Vezinas with similar numbers (Beezer is a good example of that).

Before he was Brodeur's backup he was a pretty talented goaltender.  Hell, I will go a little further and say he was a little underrated even for his time.  Do the Devils win the cup in 95 with him in net?  Probably not.  However, he was still a pretty important piece for a team that was learning how to win.

Correct. for example, in 1990-91, Terreri played 53 games at .893 SV% and 2.91 GAA. take out the guys who played less than 5 games and that GAA was good for 7th in the league. SV% was 13th among guys who didn't play single digit games. Patrick Roy won the Vezina with a 2.71 and .906. 

Nobody is arguing he was the best goalie in the NHL, but he certainly was good enough to warrant inclusion in the Ring, especially if you factor in longevity and of course moments in team history, like the "Nashville? No Way" sign. 

There is a kind of intangible element that goes into the consideration. Like putting Sergei Brylin in. The guy was basically a passenger on 3 Stanley Cup teams that had one slightly above average season. If you were going by stats, no way on Earth does he belong in.
