Geez guys think you could've taken more than six pitches to go down in the 7th?!

LOL of course the Yankee reject sucks too so now it’s another five alarm fire in the 7th and Buck has to use the business end of the pen anyway with 9 outs left

And now 8-4 with two in scoring position

Oh, and one last fvck you to Sandy...yep, you had to prove how "smart" you are by not re-signing Loup, didn't you?  Nope, can't just do the obvious thing...always pivoting to lesser options...that's why the Mets have McCan't catching.  So glad you're not the Mets' GM anymore.

And this definitely bears repeating!

Well when a team can't be bothered to properly address its 'pen...this is what will happen.

At least other than the one bomb to Harper the actual 8-9 inning guys stopped the hemorrhaging

Yeah gotta give some credit where it’s due.  That was a game just waiting to become another heartbreak.  Lugo and Diaz did what they had to.  Take the win and be happy.

Here we go…home opener.

Talk about a rotten start…as a TEAM, the D’Backs are slashing .140/.286/.246.  What, is Tim Tebow batting in every slot 1 through 9?!  Yikes.

I just hope that doesn’t mean they’re due to break out this weekend. Especially with Nimmo and Canha both on the COVID list

Was thinking the same…they’re not staying at .140.  They'll be at least .220 by season's end.

Well, Pete's OB% is taking a beating today...

but when it's due to two sacrifice flies, no problem!

12 RBI through 8 GP...sounds good to me!

Suffice it to say that the D'Backs aren't heading in the right direction through 5 innings...they're 1-for-15 so far.  8 out of 9 hitters in the lineup are hitting well under .200...five of the 8 are at .143 or less.  Damn that's just brutal.

Another terrific start for Bassitt...the starting pitcher's ERA actually went UP a little today, with his outing.

Not everyday a that a team goes 0-for-3 with RISP, and has a 5-1 lead after six innings, heh heh.

Now 2-for-22 through 7, with 9 K.  Looks like this D'Backs team could lose well over 100 games this season too.

Yeah this Diamondbacks team really isn’t good. I think the only guy the fans bothered booing in the intros was MadBum lol

I didn’t get to see the statue ceremony yet but I did hear the team intros, seems like Alonso and Jake got the loudest cheers afai could tell, not that surprising although I’m sure Buck and Cohen himself also got ovations.

Marte puts this one on ice…and Lindor with additional icing. It’s early but this looks more like the Lindor we were advertised

This game felt like one great big “washing off”.  Lindor washing off last year for sure, but more so, the Mets fully washing off any lingering “dirt” from the Wilpon and Alderson days.  From Cohen to Buck to Max to making legit moves, it really feels like NOW the era of the New Mets has begun.  We’ll see where that takes us.

Oh well can’t win em all.  Met offense seems a little all-or-nothing early on.

Well at least they got two out of three in this series, can't complain about a 7-3 start and if the pen's been spotty so far, the starting pitching has been aces.

Not everyday that 6 hits leads to 5 runs.  But yeah, 7-3, three series wins, some obvious weaknesses, but I would’ve happily signed up for 7-3.

So even with the NL adopting a DH, overall MLB is still hitting just .233, you’re still more likely to see a strikeout than a hit, and the game feels just as broken as it ever has.  And apparently 5 is the new 6…as in, starting pitchers are often being taken out in the fifth inning now.  Maybe it’s a side effect of a shortened spring training, but it also reeks of the latest sabermetric geek nonsense:  “Nope, can’t have guys facing lineups a third time, the world will end!”

Gotta wonder if these bullpens are all going to hold up.

At least the Mets are 7-3.
