Welp guess we won’t see Diaz against Kelenic after all lol

I would feel for the kid except he seems like a bit of a nozzle, co-opting Pete’s LFGM for the Mariners stretch run last year, not to mention having a freaking clothing line before ever actually establishing himself.

He’s been awful this year.  Move really should have been made sooner.

A lot of cold bats in the lineup right now.  Hope they find a way to get Scherzer a win.

Starting to feel like one of those games that makes you want to cave in your TV.  Also feels like maybe a little slump is coming…considering the Mets haven’t really had one yet, kinda feels like they’re due.

Well Drew Smith was due to - ahem - actually be scored on

Did a hell of a job to minimize the damage.

Doesn't help that baseball seems to want to use a 1910's ball this year...McNeil and Alonso's shots probably would have been HR's the last several years.

Yeah that too.  Is it too much to ask to use friggin’ NORMAL baseballs?!

My god, Scott Servais is doing everything out of the George Costanza school of managing (i.e. the opposite of what makes sense), playing the infield in with one out and the winning run on second then walking a cold Lindor to bring up Alonso…hopefully Pete makes him pay.

Yeah Mets are clearly not a 100-win team…there’s bound to be some regression…the Dodgers just lost four in a row.  Hopefully they can avoid any extended slumps for a while.

RIP David West...I remember him well.  Was a top prospect (though prone to pretty severe wildness), and who was dealt in the big deadline trade that brought Frank Viola to the Mets in 1989...never did conquer his lack of control, though he became a decent reliever for the Phils for a while...but like all lefties, was able to pitch for quite a while in the bigs, even if the results were uneven at best.

At least DHs haven’t been much of an issue for the Mets…but you wonder when that pendulum swings the other way.

Trevor Williams at least throwing strikes to start the game.  Get the feeling depending upon how things shake out, that either he or Walker (or maybe someone in the bullpen) might be asked to take some lumps today.

So maddening...bases loaded no out, Mets come away with a single run.  At least Mikolas has had to work, but lately the Mets have a habit of driving up pitch counts early, only to disappear in the middle innings...to the point where you're thinking "How the hell is this guy still pitching in the sixth?!"
