Yeah he’s gotta go.  Enough is enough.

Do I even want to know how this game got from 8-1 to 8-5?

Guess it was another Joely meltdown…earth to Billy, if the market is so robust with relievers time to get cracking on bringing a couple in.

Mets were up 8-2 going into the top of the ninth, then Joely allowed a pair of walks and hits (making it 8-4) before Buck finally realized that Joely was going to blow the game if he didn't get him the hell out of there.  Diaz came in an got an infield pop-up, then a groundout (McNeil made a solid play on it...a runner came home from third to make it 8-5), and then whiffed the final hitter to get out of it...and as has been his norm as of late, he did it with very little fuss.

Diaz has not allowed a walk or a hit in his last 7 IP, and has K'd 14...and he's only needed 73 pitches to do it.  That's just sick.

Yeah he’s gonna have to prove he has staying power this year. Last year was one thing, it was his first full season in a while but he can’t have a post ASB swoon now.

At least the bats came to hit early

Yeah huge that they came right back for sure.  Yankees can definitely pile on when they get rolling.

Does JD Davis EVER get a hit?  I swear it seems like most of his ABs end with him whiffing.  I have no idea how he’s near .240.

Shocking Walker got through six with a QS, but against a lineup like the Yankees can’t ask for much more from a non ace.

Yeah wasn’t pretty and it was damned close to blowing up in the fourth, but he got through six.  And yeah, can’t ask for more.  Hope the bats wake back up…Yankees can make a 2-run deficit disappear very quickly.

Damn…that’s the kind of inning that would’ve blown up on Diaz in past seasons.  Instead he just keeps on dealing.  Major MAJOR kudos to him.

Good lord Vogelbach is just…HEAVY.  It’s like watching the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man playing baseball.

If anyone else other than Scherzer or Diaz pitch tonight all these missed chances against German could come back to bite us. Probably need at least eight out of Max since Ottavino clearly isn’t going to be available and Diaz is probably only one inning at most.

Max has had some good fortune tonight…no problem, I’ll happily take it!  C’mon boys…tack on!
