All while some think our fan base doesn't have enough patience, like an entire decade of suck isn't a long time.

Right, and I don’t see it being much better next year. Let’s call a spade a spade, the rangers are stacked and made it happen overnight from where they were a few years ago. After a fvcking decade we still have gaping holes. We’re in for more hurt to come, if the United States we’re a hockey team right now.. they’d be the NJ Devils, not getting any better any time in the near future. The fact an NHL team thinks the Moneyball approach is the sole way to assess a championship caliber team is, quite frankly, pathetic. Analytics only tells a fraction of the story, it is important, but at the end of the day, actual performance and numbers should be the heavy emphasis. Add into it that until just a few weeks ago, this team STILL showed blind loyalty even with poor performance/results to certain members also set the team back. The Rangers went scorched earth with their coaches, something the Devils USED to do, and then the fact that EVERYONE wants to go to the Garden, regardless of how bad the team sucks, and it easy to see why they rebounded so well. I really wish some players would look at a damn map and realize you can still have NY and play in Jersey... Our illustrious GM, who has the blessings of detached and uninterested ownership, won't fire Ruff even if we're in last place by December. He wants a "friendly" coach who gets along with the young players, and Ruff is a loser so... we might be a doormat for years to come. Devil Dan 56
This western conference final has been so much more entertaining than the east. It’s night and day

It's better to stay eligible for first overall when you have the worst head coach in the league. The worst coaching + the worst goaltending + Ty Smith = great lottery odds. slasher72
I thought the 2006 Canes were the masters of diving and taking penalties but they've got nothing on this Rags team. They do it to perfection. I truly cant stomach the thought of this team playing like this for the next 4-5 years. It will be insufferable.
