I would not make that trade.

I would. In a heartbeat. Jackie really knows her stuff when it comes to hockey. Erika is pretty and all, and seems like a nice enough person, but her interviews are painful. Jackie could actually get into specifics wrt certain plays and whatnot. It wouldn’t just be “how did it feel to score that goal?!”

Plus, she’s plenty easy on the eyes herself.

Yeah, I wasn’t using hockey knowledge as a criteria lol.

Erika sucks and looks like a scarecrow had a baby with a Louis Vuitton bag

That is a very weird yet oddly specific take.

While being plenty hard on other things.

Come on @mfitz804 I thought you would’ve been all over that one.  That was disappointing.

Jack sure seem to hate her interviews more than anything in the world

I mean, if we’re going just off looks let’s get Ana de Armas. These owners can afford it!

Choke a 4-0 lead to the Coyotes on the last game of the season and you deserve the beating only a Colorado can give.

Erica is headed to the NHL network, they need a girl next door look to balance out the pornstar Redmond. ......call trotz!!!

Not getting on you in the slightest, but I do feel bad for women who cover sports...they get judged constantly for how they look, hot OR not...men simply rarely ever have to deal with that...imagine back in the day, a woman who looked like John Madden doing NFL games...the comments people would make?  Of course I'll notice if particular host or commentator is attractive, and I won't pretend that I haven't ever posted about Erika looking good in a particular outfit.

But I'm really to the point where all I want is for whoever is handling hosting or commentating duties to do a good job...I don't care what they look like, what gender they are...just do the job.  And as far as that goes, I like that Erika brings a certain enthusiasm and charm regardless of how rough of a stretch the Devils are in...she speaks to that "gotta have hope" fan that's buried inside all of us.  That being said, I agree, she's gotta start being a little more creative and/or insightful with interview questions.  And yeah it is funny, as @SterioDesign pointed out, Jack almost seems to be telling her "Is this all you got?  Can I go now?" when she interviews him.

And on that note, an old bud of mine is a Flyers fan, and back in the 90s he would record their games on VHS and then watch them later (sometimes I would join him)...one guy who clearly DEPISED being interviewed was Eric Lindros, almost to a comical degree.  There was one game where he scored an OT winner, and after a few questions in the post-game spot, basically said at least three times "OK, I gotta go guys" (looking extremely anxious to get out of there), at which point he'd get another question chucked at him.  He couldn't get out of there fast enough...he usually wasn't that blatant about it, but I remember other times where it was obvious he couldn't wait to be done.

See I go a different direction with this because I really don't pay any attention to interviews and such. I know that 99% of what you are going to get are softball questions and stock "we have to do better" or "we did good and we have to keep it going" nonsense. I appreciate that Jack scored an OT goal; I don't need to hear how he feels about it, I know he feels good about it.

Rangers being down 3-1, with their soon-to-be Vezina-winner goaltender sh!tting the bed, is a dream come true.

Just hope the Penguins close it out.  No drama.

I've gotten to the point where I tune into the pregame stuff maybe, say, once every 5 games or so.  I'll watch the post-games mostly after wins, if at all...of course, I miss all of that stuff whenever I go to the games...I don't record and then watch them later.

I'm with you in that I no longer find anything outside of the actual games "essential" viewing anymore, and that goes for the other two sports that I follow heavily (baseball and football).  I'm to the point where I'm much more in "just drop the puck/kickoff/when's the first pitch?" mode...my full game experience once consisted of pre- and post-game shows, pretty much every game...included reading about the game that I had just seen in the next day's paper.

On the WFAN this morning...Ranger fans are already calling for Gallant to be replaced with Trotz, heh heh.  Boomer was really ripping them this morning.

It is amazing...they really looked broken once that game got away from them.  Beaten.  Like others have noted, truly goes to show how much different the NHL postseason really is.

I hate defending the Rangers, but the only thing more obnoxious than the Rags are their fans. They are a young inexperienced team and don’t have that extra playoff gear yet.

I fully expect the first Devils playoff series for Jack and this group to be similar. It’s going to be a real “learn on the job” moment

Yeah I've always felt that the Rangers are one of the dumbest fanbases in the NHL.  A week ago that same fanbase is talking about how great Gallant's been for them and how well that they played against the Penguins this season...and how they're a legit Cup contender.  And pretty much everyone thought Domingue having to start for the Pens meant it was only a matter of time for the Rangers to coast into the second round...can't imagine anyone thinking Shesterkin was giving up 10 goals in just under 60 minutes of play over two games.  Like you allude to, the playoffs are just a much different beast.

And yeah ya never know in the NHL these days, but I can see that first playoff appearance for this Devils group being a similar "rude awakening" kind of series.  Hopefully not...of course, gotta friggin' GET there first...

Insufferable in 1994, going to high school as a Devils fan was so annoying. Constant abuse up until 1995, then there were the "well it was only half a season" guys.

One particular Ranger fan narrative that I always thought was ridiculous was that the Devils "had" to beat the Rangers in the 2012 ECF, to get over having lost to them in the 1994 ECF.  To that I always said, "Uh, yeah, getting to four SC Finals and watching the Devils win three of them was all the 'healing' that I needed!  What was your team doing back then...oh yeah, SUCKING."  They really thought that somehow that 1994 Cup win trounced everyone else's...hence, the celebrating of it over and over again.

Yep, same. As I always say, I was a casual Devils fan since the early 90’s but the crap I got from Ranger fans in 1994 solidified me as a die hard Devils fan for life.

It was 1994 when I turned down my friend's girlfriend's hot friend because she used to wear a Rangers jersey all the time.

All true but the background did make "Henrique, it's over!" that much sweeter.  One of the single most satisfying sports moments of my entire life along with being at Wide Right III (college football reference).
