Stay classy New York.

Having taken a look at the Twitter replies, as much as I can’t stand the NHL’s dumbest fanbase, most of the responses from Ranger fans rightly condemned the sucker punch.

But of course there were some “Duuuuuhhh, dat guy musta done SUMDIN to desurve dat!” and “Duuuuh, if ya go into da otter team’s arena, yer kinda askin for it!”-type responses.  Man I just hope that Tampa finishes those fvckers off…I don’t care if it takes 6 or 7 games, just do it.  That sh!tty fanbase deserves no joy.

Well, I was mostly just talking about the punch itself. No one should ever have to fear for their safety for wearing a rival team’s jersey at a sporting event. It’s just beyond ridiculous. I’ve been wearing Devils jerseys up in Columbus since the mid 2000’s when I started going to games up there, and thankfully I’ve never encountered anything more than some good natured sh!t talking.

This kind of stuff is what gives places like Philly, NY, Oakland, etc such bad reputations.

At least a bunch of the Rags fans tried to come to the guy’s aid afterwards I guess. But still - just a sickening display over a fvcking GAME.

Oh no I’m with you completely; I hate this crap.  There’s a part of me that would love to take my daughter to a Devils game at MSG or whatever they’re calling the Flyers’ building these days, but for obvious reasons, I won’t ever do it.  Not worth it.

I understand it's just some rando on twitter, but there is a guy posting all over that thread saying that his brother is an EMT at Health+ near MSG and the guy ended up dying in the hospital.  Again, I understand it's just some dude on twitter so who the fvck knows if it's real or not, but he is posting it on a ton of replies.  fvcking sad if true.  Sure we will find out in a few days if it is true.

Yeah- I said to charge him with assault. If the guy died, he should be charged with murder.

Assuming this poor individual actually died as a result of this, I'd be surprised if the guy who threw the punch was charged with murder...it would be difficult to prove that the guy actually intended to kill his victim.  It was an absolutely sh!tty thing to do and at the very least was assault with unintended consequences, but I can't imagine that POS was actually trying to kill anyone...especially with that many witnesses around.

That being said, I can definitely see him being brought up on manslaughter charges.  And can see him being convicted...at which point, I hope he's made an example of.  Sorry, unless you're someone who's thrown the first punch and as a result forced someone else to defend himself, you don't ever deserve to be sucker-punched like that.  Would've been nice if someone had managed to stop the guy from getting away, but sh!t happens quickly, and at least several fans in the vicinity attended to the victim.

Then he should be charged with manslaughter. But he absolutely needs to go to jail.
