Definitely on board with Clarke getting a look.  And Holtz being sent down to stay.  There just hasn't been enough moments for him to stay up here with the big club.

Holtz going to SJ to stay would be just fine too 😁

Glad you’re still here @Guadana!

Have to be honest I thought you were one of the people who were recently banned because last time I looked you were in a conversation with the guys who were.

I`m glad too. All these recent "things" have attracted to me personally  a lot of negativity by default on different sites. Thanks to the positive responses of various people, I managed to feel heard. When the forum was blocked, I also thought it was blocked for me. I'm glad to be here. If DM will think I`m making something wrong, I`m open for interact.

30g in 38 games. If he will continue to score at the same rate, he will be WHL U19 top-3 scorer in the last 15 years.

I think it's time we start to get a little excited about what Filmon is doing, especially because of all the growth he has done in the last year and a half.

Do we know if he is still growing by the way? I remember at the draft it was said that he might still be getting taller, but he was already 6-1 and that was one of the main reasons he was so skinny was the growth spurt he was hitting.

He showed up in the games he played up in Buffalo and he has done nothing since but be a pure goal scorer this season.

He and Casey have basically turned into 2 good prospects right away, and to get that out of non 1st rd picks is great.

I think if they did a re-draft there is no way Casey is not going in the 1st rd, maybe the bottom half but still a 1st with the jump his game has taken, and it might be very valuable sooner than we think if he is the other big piece who gets us a certain Swiss player.

Oh and I am not in favor of trading Casey unless it's for Meier and if so, no 1st rd pick is being offered with him and lets say Holtz, as I think those two plus a 2rd and a forward like Foote is something I don't see other teams beating.

Casey has lots of value and it might grow even more next season when Luke is gone, so I am only selling him very high.

Filmon is 6’02 now, but I think he can be even little higher. He is growing fast, reason why he is so skinny. His production isn’t really sky high, but he is playing on the bad to average team at best. And his scoring rate is really great for D+1 player.

Casey is a very good prospect, but he is small. It’s a problem. I know there are small defenders like Girard and Spurgeon, but they are really rare players, and Girard was a problem when they played play off games. It’s a question of mechanics when the board battles is going on. I still hope Seamus can develop his game, he is very good skater. But if he is a main peace in trading for Meier, I can live with it. Anyway he is very intriguing prospect to have. If he can work on his legs, he can compensate part of his short lever.

Schmid got a shutout tonight for Utica, and Clarke scored the only goal. Good night for the big club, and several of their prospects.

I'd like to see Clarke get a look at the NHL level. I think he's earned it this year.

Yooooo! ‘The best part for MacKinnon? He’ll get to watch him on the NHL level this season. In an interview with NJ Advance Media minutes before the Devils vs. Stars game on Friday, MacKinnon revealed that Hughes will join his superstar brother in the Devils’ lineup once his NCAA season is over.’ https://www.nj.com/devils/2023/01/devils-assistant-gm-reveals-plan-for-prospects-luke-hughes-shakir-mukhamadullin-more.html?utm_term=parssly&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=njcom_sf&utm_content=nj_facebook_njcom&fbclid=IwAR1DPzJCF7fcLXMLYUAo-FAuyjQCI-qX0hExHxOCJ06qjGXwoof27yvutao

2. New Jersey Devils

Led by four top D prospects (including two of the sport’s very best, and including two of each handedness), a top forward prospect and strong depth in net, on the wing, and on defence, the Devils’ pool is a high-end centre prospect shy of having a little of everything.

Chase Stillman for me remains the oddest use of a first round pick. Fitz threw that one away. I mean, Stillman has fizzled out almost instantly. Never even had a chance to live in the world of ‘let’s see if he has potential’.

I think we've a good crop of D prospects. Not so sure about the forwards though. I think Holtz and Gritsyuk have potential, but I don't think there's much after that.

Fitz has made his fair share of good moves so I really don’t want to knock him too much, but it almost feels like he didn’t have a real plan as to who to draft with that pick.  Hopefully he cements himself a role in the bottom 6 as an “Unsung Hero” type.  Seems like that’s his upside.

These are some names to remember for the future at forward.

Samu Salminem 6-2

Zakhar Bardakov 6-2

Josh Filmon 6-3

Chase Stillman 6-1

Petr Hauser 6-3

You have to hope with these 5 guys there is a 3rd or 4th line center and a couple of bottom 6 wingers, if there are, the past few drafts will have paid off.

I left off Holtz as I don't think he is a bottom 6 player and I think there is a very strong chance he will not be here in a month.

I also left off Gritsyuk as I consider him more a middle 6 player, but he's the only one if I did put him here that is small, and I think in the next couple of drafts speed and also size will be things that the Devils look for, especially a couple of more centers to get in the system.

Filmon is turning heads as well so I should keep him out of the bottom 6 but a fast lanky 3rd liner who can score is what great teams have, so leave him there.

On d, taking out Luke and Simon, plus removing  Balh or Othotiuk as I am looking more a year or longer down the road.

Topias Vilen 6-1

Shakir Mukhamadullin 6-4

Seamus Casey 5-10

Ethan Edwards 5 10

Charles Leddy 6-1

Danil Orlov 6-2

I left out some of the older Russians and Case McCarthy plus the late rd Russian from last year but I think from this group after some are traded, some never get signed we are looking at 1 or 2 players to fill out the 6th and 7 slots on the defense in the next few years.

If I have to guess Muk, Vilen in the distant future and a not talked about kids later down the line like Orlov or Leddy are who I am looking at from a team wanting D who can skate and make a good first pass with the scoring being done by the names we all know already.

This of course is me projecting that Graves and Severson are gone being replaced by Simon and Luke next season with hopefully a better veteran than Smith taking that 6th spot.

I forgot to mention Clarke who is having a very nice season in the AHL, he's the one player down there more than Foote at this point who I think might have a future on the team.

He's the general manager of a professional hockey team with a team of scouts.  If you buy into that mindset that Daniel, DM84, or whichever other delusional poster put out here that he didn't have a plan for who to pick IN THE FIRST ROUND, you're out of your mind.  My guess is they liked his pedigree and what they saw during his interviews (he does seem charismatic) and then his skill set just didn't develop as fast as they hoped.  Fitzgerald reached for a certain player archetype here with his second 1st round pick, but to say they didn't have a plan has to be insulting.
